How's Life Jess? #2

Bodycon Midi Dress & Blazer - Primark

Hi guys,

I'm here with my second life update, I love reading life updates and knowing what people are up to in their daily life.

Life's been pretty hectic and I'm finding it very hard to keep up with blogging, college and how fast things are moving generally.

College has been crazy, I really didn't expect to be doing more than 3 projects this term, the work is piling up and I'm slowly trying to tackle it. Having 4 teachers teaching me all different things and feeding different info to me is making me really tired and stressed. This is starting to sound like a very depressing post but I'm just trying to give you an insight on why my posts have been less frequent.

However, there has been some great parts of college, I'm learning new things which I find incredibly cool like the collar (pictured), I can't wait to learn some more. I might do a tutorial on how to make a collar! I'm planning to work so hard this year, my grades last year was surprisingly good but I want to do so much better this year.

Uni. Since the beginning of September, all I've been hearing is uni this and uni that, I'm actually quite scared that I've got to make such a huge decision for my future, I'm not sure where I want to go or what I want to do in regards to staying at home or moving away. I want to study Fashion Design, I've booked a few open days for universities I'd like to go to, so hopefully that'll help me make up my mind a bit.

My blogging schedule has been all over the place recently, hopefully there will be a post up every other day, I have so many posts planned out for October, it's just finding the time to actually write the content, taking the pictures is the easy part. I love blogging, if college starts to take over my life, blogging will have to take a backseat but I won't stop blogging and I'll try my best to post regularly.

Lastly, I want to take this chance to say thank you to all my new and old followers and regular readers, I'm so grateful that you take time out from your day to read my blog. I get new followers everyday and I'm so happy that you like my blog enough to follow and keep on reading. I can't wait to get to 100 followers so I can do a giveaway for you guys, just to show you how much I appreciate you all!

If you want to win free fashion for a whole year, Mr Price (South Africa's Primark) is holding a competition, just click here* to enter!

Hope you liked my life update and will continue to support my blogging journey.
If you have any advice on leaving home for uni or if it's better to live with parents, please drop me a comment, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks for reading lovelies!

A/W Dark Purple Lip Combo

Nivea Colour Passion Lipstick - Aubergine 13
LA Colors Lipliner - Deepest Purple

Hello lovely readers,

This is the second part of my A/W lip combos, yesterday's one was a red lip combo.
Today's one is going to be my dark purple lip combo, I bought this lipstick towards the ending of  Summer and I couldn't wait to wear it.

Some people may be scared to wear such a bold and dark lipstick but it's not as scary as it seems. I've never tried a purple lipstick before this one so I wasn't sure what to expect but I really wanted it for A/W so I just went ahead and bought it. Are there any shades you've been scared to buy?

Before buying the lipstick, I went into the trusty Beauty Base and picked up a LA Colors lipliner in Deepest Purple, that's when my hunt for a lipstick began.

This combo lasts all day, I was really shocked to see that my lipstick was still on after having a drink and something to eat. My lips weren't dry either, I don't know if that Nivea being part of the combo helped but I didn't have to apply Vaseline during the day to keep my lips moisturised.

Again, with this bold colour, I pair it with a neutral eye, bit of contouring and that's about it, I think I'm a bit scared of clashing colours so I'll be experimenting!

What was your favourite lip combo? The red or the dark purple?
Any lip combos you can't live without?
I'd love to know guys, thanks for reading!

A/W Red Lip Combo

LA Colors Matte Lipstick - Berry Ice
MUA Lipliner - Brooding Plum

Hey everybody,

Apologies for being absent for a few days on here, college has taken over my life and the amount of work they're giving us is so depressing. As I'm in my 2nd year of college, thinking about uni, my portfolio and all that is making me so stressed so blogging's taken a backseat recently.

Anywho, I'm back to share with you my lip combos for a/w, the first one is my red lip combo.
I've been wearing it a lot this a/w and my bright red has been forgotten.

I usually where this combo with a simple neutral eye, very minimal make up because the lips are quite bold.

The lipliner keeps the lipstick on as opposed to wearing the lipstick by itself. I put the lipliner just on the edge of the lip with some vaseline first to moisturise the lips and then put the lipstick on top.

Even when it started to rub off, my lips are still quite stained so it's not as noticeable, getting it off is not a problem, my L'Oreal micellar water does the job!

What are your favourite lip combos?
Stayed tuned for tomorrow's lip combo, thanks for reading

EOTD: Neutral & Dark

MUA Undressed Palette - Shade 1, 3, 10, 11,
MUA Glamour Nights Palette - Shade 6

Hey everyone,

Today I thought I'd do an eye of the day post because I always get questions and compliments on my eye shadow looks so I thought why not do EOTD posts every now and then on here!

For this look, I wanted to go a little bit dark but staying neutral, it's not 'smoky eye' dark but darker than what I'd usually do.
It may seem like a lot of eye shadows to use for one look but I like to blend lots of shades to get one shade. I use shade 1 for my tear duct and waterline as I have hooded eyelids and it opens up my eyes.
I use shade 10 and 11 for my crease even though you can't see my crease when my eyes are open when they're closed, BAM! haha

I wore this look with my MUA Cream Blusher in Dolly and a light pink lip.

Let me know if you like the look and what other looks you'd like to see!

MUA Blusher Candyfloss Review

Hi guys,

I think September is my review month because I was so lazy during August and couldn't be asked to review anything now I've got a load of drafts saying review for this and review for that and I just want to get them out before I forget about them and it's no longer relevant to anybody.

After not being able to find the leather jacket I wanted at the end of summer, I decided to spend the money on some beauty products, this blusher was one of them.

I'd been meaning to get a new blusher, just to change the colour of  my cheeks. It's either no blusher or my coral coloured cream blusher. I'm not a huge fan of blusher but when you're obsessed with buying make up, you force yourself to love it haha

This blusher is a barbie pink with a purple undertone, the front of the packaging is clear plastic with MUA slapped on the front. Also, the logo is imprinted in the blusher which is kinda cool.

I really like this blusher, I'm going to be using it a lot, paired with a neutral eye and my dark purple lipstick. I love the shimmer in the blusher, definitely makes the cheeks glow.

I do prefer cream blushers but having oily skin means my face is less oily with a powder blusher. However, whenever I wear a cream blusher, more powder is applied to keep my cheeks from being too oily.

Another reason why I prefer cream blushers is that powders can be quite messy and chalky-looking.
This blusher isn't chalky at all which I'm very happy about because I hate chalky blushers as they're pretty much useless and you look like a geisha if you try using it!

Overall, I'm very happy with it and I'd recommend it, it's only £1, even if you get it and you don't like it, £1 isn't going to hurt your soul haha

Let me know if you've tried it and what your opinions are on it!

Autumn Outfits feat. Choies*

Outfit 1

Outfit 2

Outfit 3

Hi everybody,

How's the start of Autumn been for you guys? I've been feeling pretty cold but I've been really excited to wear my A/W gear. I've been at home a lot as my college timetable has been a bit of a shambles and I've had a day off here and there. A life update should be up sometime next week so I'll fill you lovelies in on what's been happening!

Onto the post, I was browsing on a website that I'd come across when I first started blogging, Choies. I've had their banner in my sidebar for a while but seemed to forget about it, when I was doing a sidebar clear out, I rediscovered it and rushed onto the site to have a look.

There was so many things that I wanted, I was adding this and that, jewellery and shoes to my wishlist due to the fact that I'm kind of on a shopping ban haha
So I decided, to make me feel better, why not make outfits and share them with the world, make outfits with clothes I can't have anytime soon. Don't know how this was supposed to make me feel better!

I did 3 outfits based on 3 different occasions/scenes. The first is a casual, everyday look, the second is more girly but still very casual, can be worn on a night out for dinner and the last is definitely more formal and looks more like work wear, it's a very powerful outfit I think haha

I'd wear every single outfit but obviously switch up the footwear for a pair of beautiful trainers, my favourite is probably the second one, girly but with a pair of trainers, it would definitely be more me.
What's your favourite outfit? I'd love to know!

Also, if you sign up to Choies, you get free points equivalent to $15 to spend online!

Hope this post helped with putting together Autumn outfits, hope you're all well and thanks for reading!

Hello fashion lovers,

London Fashion Week is done and dusted and Milan has taken over. I'm pretty sure that everyone that took part is having a good ol' rest!

This season has definitely been one of my favourite seasons, even with NYFW, I struggled to pick out my favourites.

The prints and the materials and the styling was just amazing, after nearly every show I watched, I was like, 'this is my favourite collection' and then the next one, 'actually this is my favourite', even to the point that my mum got annoyed and said 'stop showing me, you've shown me too many favourites' haha!

After saying they were all my favourites and then having to pick a top 10 was so hard but out of the 10, my top, top, top fave was David Koma's collection. Look at that leather!!!! John Rocha was a close first! Which was your favourite?

I could definitely see a pattern in the way dresses were made this season likewise with NYFW being full of cutouts and crop tops.
The high neck-ed dresses seem to take over the style of dress, pastel colours, lace and floral prints were all present on the runway too.

I'm sure everyone's going to be looking supa dupa fly when Spring comes cause there's going to be some great clothes to rock!

Hope you enjoyed reading my little LFW summary, stay tuned for MFW, I'm sure there's going to be great collections!

Thanks for reading lovelies!

This or That Tag

Happy Wednesday everyone,
A couple days ago, Bethany from Perpetual Style tagged me to do the This or Tag, I hardly ever do tags but I thought why not, do something different.

So here it is!

Make Up

Blusher or Bronzer:
Definitely blusher, I never use bronzer, no reason for it, I just don't.

Lipgloss or Lipstick:
This is a hard one because I wear both just as equally as each other.
Ahh I'd have to say lipstick.

Liner or Mascara:
This is an easy one. Mascara.

Foundation or Concealer:
Umm foundation, covers the whole face

Neutral Eyeshadow or Colour Eyeshadow:
Neutral. I'm trying to experiment more with colour

Pressed or Loose Eyeshadow:
Never bought loose eyeshadow so definitely pressed.

Nails

OPI or China Glaze:
umm this is an awkward one, I haven't used either of them.
So going by the name, China Glaze haha

Long or Short Nails:
Long

Acrylic or Natural:
I love acrylic nails but the aftermath is hell so natural.

Bright or Dark:
Depends on the season, but most of the time, dark.

Flower or No Flower?
Flower? Who made this tag? Haha no flower, I guess

Body

Perfume or Body Spray:
Body spray

Lotion or Body Butter:
I'd say neither because I use Vaseline for my body but because I use Johnson's baby lotion sometimes.
Lotion.

Body Wash or Soap:
Body wash

Lush or Other Bath Companies:
Haven't used any Lush products so other.

Fashion

Jeans or Sweat Pants:
Jeans, I wear jeans 80% of the time.

Long Sleeves or Short Sleeves:

Dresses, just easier to wear, all you've got to do is throw on shoes and a jacket.

Stripes or Plaid
Stripes

Flip Flops or Sandals:
Sandals. what is pretty about a flip flop?

Scarves or Hats:
I loved scarves last A/W but this year beanies are going to be my favourite.
Can't choose!

Studs or Dangly Earrings:
Studs. Dangly ones don't suit me at all

Necklace's or Bracelets
This one's hard, why you make me choose?
I'd have to say necklaces because they can change an outfit more than a bracelet

Heels or Flats:
I love the look of heels but if trainers (I love my trainers!) are classed as flats then flats it is.

Jackets or Hoodies:
This one's easy. Jackets (after trainers!) are my favourite things to buy.

Hair

Curly or Straight:
Curly, just looks more fun.

Bun or Ponytail:
My hair's always in a bun, it's easier to do. Occasionally, I have it in a ponytail.

Bobby Pins or Bufferfly Clips:
Bobby Pins

Hair Spray or Gel:
Gel, I use it every single day, okay I'm exaggerating, most days, if I didn't, my hair would be all over the place.

Long or Short:
Short. Looks better on me, as my sister says every time I want to have my hair long.
Even to the point that my natural hair is longer than the weaves I do

Light or Dark:
Dark, I wanted to go light this Summer but after I accidently died it a dark red, I was happy it was lighter.
Maybe next year.

Side Sweep or Full Bangs (Fringe):
Side sweep, full fringes are too square haha

Victoria Secrets Fabulous Perfume

Hi everybody!

I just wanted to do a quick post about a perfume that was gifted to me by one of my dad's close friend (I know you didn't ask for my life story aha). It's the Victoria Secrets Fabulous, I've only started using it after ignoring it for a while because I'd been trying to finish the Britney Spears Fantasy perfume first.

I really like this scent, very sweet smelling. It smells like fruits mixed with flowers. I'm not good at describing scents, people around me have always said I have a bad nose. If you have this perfume let me know what you think it smells like?

I don't wear this perfume on a daily basis because I usually use the Victoria Secrets body mists. I do bring it out of its box occasionally and spritz it here, there and everywhere.

I love the bottle, very cute and girly, the vertical lines on the bottle are very sleek and makes it look grown up even though it's very pink.

Overall, I really like the perfume, not sure if it's my favourite scent but I do like it!
Let me know if you've tried it!

LA Colors Metallic Eye Shadow - Devious - Review

Hey everyone,

This is going to be a review on an eye shadow palette I purchased from Beauty Base in Westfield.

It has 5 shades and goes from light to dark.
This palette is great for creating a blue/purple smoky eye, it's super pigmented so you have to be careful not to pack too much onto your brush or you'll have too much product on your lid.

It performs best when it is applied with a primer, the colour is much bolder when a primer is used.

I don't see the difference between the two blue shades and I think it's a waste of a shade, a darker purple could've been added instead of another blue. What do you guys think?

The great thing about this palette is that it was only a £1, which is crazy for the quality it provides.
I'm definitely going to be purchase more shades. £5 for 25 shades sounds so good and definitely not bank breaking.

I love LA Colors and their price range is unbelievable.
I'd really recommend them.

Have you tried anything from LA Colors?
Let me know!
