What's New In Jess' . . . Closet & Make Up Drawers? | Birthday Haul

Hiya!

My birthday celebrations post went up yesterday so I thought to end my birthday shenanigans with a little haul!
I did do a few trips here and there throughout the week to Primark, I wasn't in the right mind to properly shop because I was looking forward to the night out but I did pick up a few basic bits.
Birthday money is always great to receive and it's even more great to spend it but when I get lots of money in one go, I tend to just save it for a rainy day.

However, these are the bits I picked up, just a few things to style up. Definitely keep an eye out for OOTD's and make up looks!
My Samsung Tablet was an early birthday gift that I didn't open until my birthday but I thought I'd add it into the haul. Its my best friend right now, I bought it a lovely Pug case to keep it protected until I get my keyboard case! I'll definitely be doing a review soon so don't go far!

Have a look at my haul and let me know if you've picked up similar pieces or if you'd like to see how a certain item is styled!

18th Birthday Celebrations!

Hey guys!

As many, many of you know (because I wouldn't stop talking about it!), it was my birthday over a week ago.
My birthday celebrations was dragged out for a whole week and ended a couple of days ago.

It was all kicked off with a pamper session on July 18th with my mum and sisters. I headed to my favourite nail shop, had my acrylic nails refilled and a luxury pedicure, my mum and sister's had the same and it was so nice to bond with them.
It was also nice to see my mum relaxing and not having to worry about anything but herself!
So the whole day was just a girls' day and I loved it.

20th July.
The big day.
I turn 18!

I woke up to my new tablet and ripped (slight exaggeration!) it open and started making use of it straight away!
Sister jumped down from the top bunk to sing a song like we always do, her's was Beyonce - Flawless, "I woke up like this . . . we flawless" back in May and mine was Will.I.Am & Cody Wise - It's My Birthday, "It's my birthday . . . Ima spend my money".
Just a little sisterly tradition.

The day was then carried on with a Full English Breakfast, a couple movies, me being sang 'Happy Birthday' to, cake and then a huge Chinese dinner.
I loved how my actual birthday was so chilled, I spent it with the family and it went exactly to plan!

Throughout the week, there was numerous shopping trips, family coming over to visit, birthday cards, money and birthday antics.
I did do a day of interning which was fun too! I love my internship, I work with amazing people!

Now, the day I was looking forward to. July 25th.
A day of alcohol, 18 year old 'bidniz', dressing up and all that.

The day started off great, I was excited about being 18 and being able to order a glass of alcohol and have the ID to show. However, as the day went along, it got worse and worse, to the point where I didn't even want to leave my house.
It rained pigeons and rats, my has was curled and the curls dropped due to the humidity.
Nothing was going to plan.

Luckily, I have an amazing auntie that dropped me and the bestie halfway so wouldn't be trotting around in the rain, by the time we'd got our halfway destination the rain had stopped and from then on, the evening got better.
I met up with everyone, we chilled in Trafalgar Square (saw a mahooosive rat) and then we headed to TGI Friday's in Leicester Square.
I ordered a huge drink (Bacardi Sweetheart) and drank every last drop!

I had an amazing night, we planned to head to a club but we were knackered so we agreed to save it for another day.

I loved how my 18th birthday panned out, it was a rollercoaster week. I was a queen, a grateful kid,  a diva, a spoilt brat, a grown woman (yes, I felt like that some days!) all in the space of 7 days!

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes, the gifts/money, the advice, I really, really appreciate it.
Life as a 18 year old is going to be an experience and a half but I'm sure I'll love it!

Muted Tones | Casual Summer Lookbook #2

V Neck Tee Primark | Joggers Adidas (from a tracksuit) | Bomber Jacket H&M
Satchel & Pumps Primark | Snapback eBay

Hello again!

Look number 2 for my casual summer lookbook.

My H&M bomber jacket has made another appearance, it's undeniably my favourite jacket.
It's just so amazing!

As you can see, there isn't much about this outfit that is summery but I live in London and you can never take the risk when the clouds start to form.

I was actually interning so I threw on some joggers but I didn't want to look too 'I'm at home, just chilling' so I styled them up with a oversized v neck tee and my Primark pumps.

The snapback and the satchel added that extra life to my outfit so I didn't look too under dressed.

Grey, black and white are becoming my favourite colours to wear so you'll be seeing much more of them on here!

FOTD | Natural Glow | First Impressions

Hey guys,

Yep, you're seeing my face again!

I recently put up a daily face post and I got lovely tweets, emails and comments so I thought why not put up a FOTD every now and then.

Today's look was a glowing face.
You guys probably didn't notice but I definitely noticed, I've changed my foundation and it matches my skin, perfectly. Perfectly!
It's the Revlon ColorStay Foundation in Caramel and I love it.

I also used this chance to try out my new blusher by MUA, it's much more pigmented than the one I use usually. I think I'll use it more for going out instead of on a daily basis.

I love a simple lip and my orange lipstick by Miss Sporty does the trick topped up with my MUA nude lip gloss.

I'm also trying out new eyelashes by Ardell in 107 and they're very light, I wouldn't say natural looking because they're quite long but I like the shape and they're not too in your face!

Definitely check out my  daily face post to see what I use for my base, it's the same except that I've changed my foundation and blusher.
All products shown are listed below!

Products

Revlon ColorStay Foundation in Caramel (not pictured)
Rimmel Retro Glam Scandaleyes Mascara
MUA Blusher in Marshmallow

What's New in Jess . . . Make Up Drawers? | eBay brushes #2

Hey guys!

I'm a huge eBay lover, I love finding amazing bits on there and for ridiculously cheap prices.
Make up brushes are my favourite things to buy on eBay, they're cheap, there's a wide variety and they're great quality.
Definitely check out my first eBay brushes review, nothing but good things to say!

Onto the post!

I went ahead and purchased two new brushes on eBay, I really wanted a tapered and angled blending brush so I did a quick search and found them.
They arrived at the same time and pretty fast considering it was coming from China!

The tapered brush was £1.49 and the angled blending one was 99p!
These are incredibly cheap and I can tell you guys, they are such good quality, when they arrived, they were super soft and still are.
I'd say they're on the same level or even higher than the Real Techniques brushes and that's saying something.

I'd recommend these brushes to anyone on a budget or anyone that wants to quickly build up a brush collection! Keep a look out for a full review!

Jesslyn

Birthday OOTD

Cami Primark | High Waisted Skinny Jeans Primark | Kimono LOVE* | Heels New Look
Clutch Primark | Chain eBay | Earrings Primark | Watch (can't remember, I'll update when I find out!)

Hi guys!

First of all, I just wanted to apologise for the quality of the pictures, it rained heavily so I couldn't take them outside. However, I didn't want to pass up showing you guys my outfit so I had to improvise!
Definitely check out my Instagram to see more!

But anyways!

I'd been planning this outfit for months and months, I actually didn't want to wear this kimono until I'd worn it for my birthday. So it just sat in my wardrobe, waiting!

I wanted to wear a simple outfit, I was going for dinner/clubbing so I didn't want to overdress.
I wore my high waisted acid wash jeans with my cami, I love how simple and casual they are but wearing them with the kimono and the heels definitely upped their level.

When I saw the clutch in Primark, I knew I had to get it, it looks so expensive and the gold accents are placed perfectly! It was only £6 too!

So that's it guys, again apologies for the photos, head over to my IG to see pictures from the night!
I had a great birthday week and I'm happy I could share it with you all!

What's' New on Jess' . . . Skincare Shelf? | Superdrug Mask

Superdrug Purifying Witch Hazel Mud Mask | £2.59

Hello!

You all probably saw me complaining about how bad my skin had got!
So instead of me trying to tackle it with my daily scrubs and washes, I asked my sister, while she was out, to stop off at Superdrug and get me a face mask.

I had a choice between Hydrating, Purifying, De-stressing and a few more, definitely check out their mask collection!
I decided to go for the Purifying mask, especially because my sister mentioned it was for oily skin.

I've used it a couple times and it's working, I'll definitely do a review for you guys.
For £2.59, I'd say well done Superdrug!

Thanks for reading and feel free to recommend any other skincare products!

Interning with Jylle Navarro | Day 4 & 5

Hey guys!

I have day 4 & 5 of my internship for you all!
I didn't do much on day 4 and I also didn't take many pictures either so it wasn't worth doing a post.
So I've put the days together, read on to know what I got up to!

Day 4

It was pretty laid back, me and Jen (my fellow intern!) were finishing off a piece that we'd started the week before.
We had already made a tassel so we knew what to do and we just tried to get it done which ended up taking the whole day.
I'm also on a water detox to help clear my skin so my water bottle has been my bestie!

In the picture above, you can see me making a twist, this was one of 20! They take ages to make but you get quicker after you've made about 10!

That's all day 4 consisted of, I'm glad we've got it done.

Day 5

Because we got the tassels done, it was time to move onto something else.
Jen wasn't in because she went in on Tuesday and I chose to go in on the Wednesday.

This day was a pom pom making day!

I never knew so much work went into something so small.
I did have fun making them, spending so long on one pom pom was so rewarding when it was finished.
I love how they look, I'd love to have some hung up in my room!
They're so easy to make but they take time and the amazing thing about each one is that they're all different (unless you make them the same!)

So that was day 5, I'm having so much fun working with Jylle and Jen!
Stay tuned for more and don't forget to check out Jylle's website!
