Hey everyone,

Another OOTD for you, I'm loving the outfit picture taking, the more I do it, the more comfortable I get.
I definitely want to show you guys more of what I'm wearing this a/w.

This outfit was a quick throw on as my mum wanted to go shopping but the weather didn't look too good. I decided to bring out the boots, I'm more of a trainers person but I didn't want my trainers to get ruined in the rain and mud!

I noticed I was wearing a lot of black leather, I'm really loving leather this season, I want more!
The midi rings were a recent purchase which I will be showing in a future haul.

Hope you guys like my outfit, how are you styling your boots this a/w?
Hope you're all well and thanks for reading!

W7 12 Piece Brush Set | Review

Hey,

If you saw my mini haul last week, you would've seen that I bought more brushes to add to my collection
Me and my sis went halves on an Amazon voucher and this was one of my purchases. I have a few products from w7 so I was excited to try out their brush set. I have their angled eyeliner brush which I use frequently and is one of my favourite brushes so I was expecting a lot from these brushes.

Here are some basic facts; there are 12 brushes, an applicator, a lip brush, an angled eyeliner brush & eyeliner brush, 3 shading brushes, a spoolie brush, eyebrow brush, fan brush and 2 powder brushes.
The brush roll has protective plastic where the bristles sit so they don't dirty the case.
The bigger brushes have brush guards.

As I was testing out these brushes, I did a pros and cons list and documented it on my phone so I wouldn't miss anything out as there are 12 brushes and it would've been hard to remember everything and I wouldn't want to recommend it without putting in every detail.

The things I love about the brushes as a whole is the case and protective plastic, I hate when make up bags or brush rolls get dirty from the make up on the brushes so I 'm happy the plastic is there as it is easier to clean if it gets dirty.
I also love the sleek leather look of the brush roll, it looks very fresh and packs away the brushes easily.
The brushes are incredibly soft, the powder brushes feel great on my face. The shading brushes blend very well and they both pick up product well.
The lip brush is a great brush too, I used it once on myself but I hardly use lip brushes, my mum said the brush felt soft on her lips when I used it on her.
All the brushes wash really well, they don't need extra scrubbing or extra effort to make sure they're clean, my normal brush cleaning routine does the trick! They also dry with the same softness and the bristles don't shed.

The things I dislike about the brushes as a whole is that they don't have brush names, I'm so used to the Real Techniques named brushes that any brush that isn't named doesn't make me happy. I like being able to call a brush by the right name and it also makes it easier to explain to people.

I also don't like the fact that the brush handles are quite long, I have small hands so the handle is a bit long. Also, the downside to the long handles is that they don't fit in my make up bag which is annoying as I love the powder brush and would love to have that in my make up bag.

Because I don't use gel eyeliner, I decided to use the angled eyeliner brush to conceal my brows but it was too small and difficult to use.
The applicator brush is a waste of a brush because I doubt I'll ever use it now I have blending and shading brushes.

Overall, I think the pros outweigh the cons mainly because I love the softness of the brushes and the fact that they wash well. Not having brush names is my preference and I feel that having names helps however I love the look of most of the brushes and the brush roll is definitely a plus.
I'd say if you're trying to build your brush collection or you're younger, they're good to have as they make your make up look great and they're quite cheap for a whole brush set.

Have you tried these brushes, what were your opinions? Did you think the handles were too long or were they perfect, I'd love to know!

Fashion Design Portfolio | The Beginning

Hey guys,

As some of you may know that I'm currently studying a BTEC in Fashion at college. The course consists of  pattern cutting, garment construction, research, photography and much more.

After college, I want to study Fashion Design, I've always wanted to be a fashion designer so it wasn't a hard decision when thinking of courses I want to study.

As interviews are in Feburary, everyone wanting to do a design based course has to produce a portfolio.
I'm excited to produce a portfolio because everything I put in will show what I am capable of doing and more importantly, how I do it.

With a design portfolio, it's about development so I think that's what my portfolio will mostly consist of.
Above is the start to my portfolio, I'm not sure if I'll include them in it but they're definitely a start, if I don't start now, I'll leave it until last minute as per.

As my portfolio develops, I'll do more posts on it so you guys can see how my portfolio started and how it looks at the end!

If you're planning to do a design based course and are producing portfolios too, let me know how you're getting on. And if you're already studying a design based course and would love to give me some advice, leave a comment or tweet me @JesslynJuly :)

Bangle - H&M
Necklace (set of 3) - Primark
Bracelet, Rings & Bag - Primark
Shoes - Nike Satires

Hey guys,

How's your Sunday? Did the time change absolutely destroy your lovely Sunday lie in? It destroyed mine, I was up at 6, blog reading and online shopping, my body refused to believe it wasn't 7.
Speaking of online shopping, I can't stop, I seriously can't, I've bought so much, eBay has a huge part to play in my spending. There will be a massive haul soon, I've bought all kinds.

Today's post is an OOTD, this outfit was all about layering up. It is definitely getting colder and I'm so excited to start wearing my winter clothes. I have been finding it hard to find that perfect winter coat but I'll get there even if it means I end up with 10 haha

I'm a huge fan of the shirt and jumper combo, it's a great way to layer and change how a jumper looks.
My leather jacket is one of my favourite a/w pieces because it's so easy to throw on with anything. Leather jackets don't keep me warm at all (not sure about anyone else?!) so it is definitely my layering number one!

This outfit was also a chance to get out my favourite skirt. It's a textured, floral skater skirt. I love the way it looks and feels. Even my college complimented it and asked where I got it from, she was surprised when I said Primark. Primark are upping their game (and their prices!) and have some amazing a/w bits and bobs. It's worth taking a trip, I'm sure you'll find loads to buy! If you have already, what bits have you bought from Primark recently?

Hope you guys liked my outfit, let me know what you've been wearing this a/w and how you're styling that jumper or those boots!
Thanks for reading and stay tuned x

EOTD: Wedding Edition

Hey everybody,

Today's post is an 'eye of the day', I used my  120 colours eye shadow palette that I bought
from Amazon (buy here). I used the 5 shades shown above to create this look.

I wore this look to a wedding, I post the OOTD 2 weeks ago and said I'd show you guys what my eyes were like. If you want to see what I was wearing, click here to have a look!

I wanted my eyes to have the same colours as the dress/shoes etc. I was wearing so I went for a turquoise colour which matched the panel on my dress, I used the royal blue and brown shade to blend into the crease. I then use the coral shade (which matched my shoes and clutch) for the waterline.
To open up my eyes I used the sea green for my tear duct, added some mascara and liquid liner and voila!

For the rest of my face, I used the MUA Blusher in Candyfloss and Miss Sporty Lipstick in Bubblegum.

What do you beauties think of my EOTD, what are your favourite colours to use for eyeshadow looks?
Any eyeshadow looks you want me to create with certain colours?
I'd really love to know!

Thanks for stopping by!

Mini Haul!

W7 12 Piece Brush Set - Amazon (similar here)
120 Colours Eye Shadow Palette - Amazon (here)
Nike Team Hustle D6 Junior Basketball Trainers

Hey guys,

I've been buying and buying like crazy, I can't stop (hangs head in shame...), which is typical for a blogger when you keep hearing about the wonderful things out there during blogger chats!

I know this is a small haul but I didn't want to wait for the many things I'd ordered to show you these.
So... they'll definitely be another haul very soon, keep your eyes peeled shopaholics!

I'm going to start with my Amazon purchases, me and my sister decided to go halves on a £30 Amazon we received, so with my £15, I got the W7 brush set and a 120 colours palette. I always see beauty gurus on youtube with these massive palettes and I just sit there staring, like, wow I want one. And look, I got one.
Some of you might think, why would you need that many colours but I think this will help me experiment with more colours and have more shades to use when doing other people's make up.

My second purchase was the brush set, I needed some new brushes to use so I thought this would be a great way to build my collection. They're very soft and I love the case for them, I'll be reviewing them soon!

My last and beautiful purchase was a pair of trainers, I wrote a separate post when I first bought them but I thought I'd include it in my haul. I love them and I can't wait to show you guys what they look like on and how I style them.

What was your favourite item from my haul and what have you bought recently? I'd love to know :)
Stay tuned for more posts this week,

Casio Watch (review) - The Watch Hut*

Lips - LA Colors Matte Lipstick - Berry Ice

Hi guys,

Originally, I wasn't going to use these pictures for an OOTD but I didn't want my outfit to go to waste so I eventually decided to use them.
I wore this outfit to the University of East London (Docklands) open day, my mum got so excited by the view that she forced me to take pictures. Not going to lie, the view was lovely, seeing the planes taking off and landing, pretty cool!
The open day was really good, both me and my mum enjoyed ourselves, they had a taster session, we got to make our own patterns which was really fun. I definitely want to apply to study Fashion Design at UEL! Did you go to the open day, what did you think?

My outfit was pretty simple, I've been loving the all black look lately but I wanted to brighten it up so I added my grey blazer to the outfit.
My make up was also quite simple, I wore my dark red lipstick to add something to the face, I'm glad I dressed comfortable (like I always do!) because of the unexpected 2 hour journey, I like long journeys but not when you're accompanied by your mum, constantly talking!

I've planned some good posts for this week so keep your lovely eyes peeled and thanks for reading!

Casio Watch ft The Watch Hut* | Review

Casio Mini Silver Tone Digital Watch - The Watch Hut*

Hey everyone,

A couple days ago, I was sent this watch from the The Watch Hut via etail-pr. I was super excited when I opened my package and saw it.
I love the packaging it came in, so professional, I didn't want to open it at first because I loved the look of the packaging. Even now, I store the watch inside the plastic display case. Sad, I know!

Just a few facts about the watch. It's a digital watch that has a stopwatch, timer, alarm and date features. It's also water resistant which is great because I'm very clumsy, never know when it may come in handy.
It has a steel bracelet type strap with a fold over clasp.
The case shape is rectangular (which I thought was square) and it's made of steel, the glass is made of mineral crystal glass, which is the glass most commonly used for watches.

I'm so happy that the strap is adjustable because the watch and my small wrist was not going to work... at all. When I first put it on, it literally dropped off my wrist, I wasn't happy until I discovered you could adjust it by sliding the clasp along the strap, voila. Happy Jesslyn!

I'm so not used to wearing a watch that works, weird but every time my mum asked me for the time, I automatically reached for my phone to check. I think the last time she asked me, just as I was about to get my phone, she said 'you have a watch you know' haha

Overall, I really love this watch, the instructions made it super easy to set the time and date and how to adjust the strap. I love the burgundy, goes very well with the silver!
I'm looking to purchase the gold version of this watch next month!

Thank you The Watch Hut!

Skincare Review | L'Oreal 3 in 1 Micellar Solution & Superdrug Deep Action Daily Facial Scrub

L'Oreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution
Superdrug Deep Action Daily Facial Scrub - Anti-bacterial

Hello everyone,

Another review for you lovely readers and it's a skincare one!
I'm not a huge skincare person but I do try my hardest to take care of my skin, applying make up in the mornings would be hell if I didn't look after my skin.

Along with my DHC Deep Cleansing Oil (review), these two products have been saving my face. I'm very lazy and using 3 products to get a clean face can be annoying so I end up using a wipe sometimes (bad blogger!)

The micellar solution is what I use to take off all my make up, the product says it'll dissolve my make up, unclog my pores and remove impurities and lastly, tone and soothe my skin.
It also says it's suitable for sensitive skin.

Overall, I'd say the product is telling the truth, my skin was noticeably better, my skin wasn't as porous. It also evened out my skin tone which I was very happy about because I was using many other toners (that my mum bought for me) before, that didn't actually work on my skin.
Taking off make up is really quick when I use this solution, sometimes I use a cotton pad and other times, I use cotton wool,. Getting off mascara is usually a pain but follow the directions and it just comes off.
However, don't get this baby in your eye, it stings like a b..iscuit!

After getting my make up off, I use the facial scrub, there's tiny bead in the scrub which aren't too harsh on my skin, which I'm happy about. I put a teaspoon amount on my finger tips, wet it and then massage it on my face. I really massage it into my skin, especially because I have oily skin, when I feel my face tingling a little, I rinse it off, still exfoliating as I rinse.

I love this scrub, it's great for my type of skin. I definitely saw a difference in my skin afterwards, maybe about 3-4 days later. I don't use it daily because I do have sensitive skin but if I feel that my skin needs it daily, I'll use it daily, even still the scrub doesn't have a bad effect on my skin.

If you have oily skin, I think these two products would work great on your skin, especially the scrub, it really gets deep into the skin and when you rinse, your skin feels so smooth and clean.
I think the micellar solution is great for any skin type, I'm happy it was suitable for sensitive skin. I could use it every day and not worry about red blotches on my face or sore skin.

On a whole, they're great products and I'll definitely be buying them again because I know they work well on my skin.
What are your opinions on these products if you've tried them?
What skin type do you have and what works for you?
Let me know guys!
Thanks for reading and follow me on bloglovin to keep updated!

My Top A/W Lipsticks

Miss Sporty - Spiced Rum 021
LA Colors Matte Lipstick - Berry Ice
MUA Lipstick - Shade 11
Nivea Lipstick - Aubergine 13

Hello guys,

Who's loving Autumn so far? I know I am, the cold has come and I'm not as prepared as I thought I would be but any excuse to go shopping, I'm happy to use.
My wardrobe is slowly building up with A/W pieces and I can't wait to show you guys what I'm wearing, in future OOTD's.

Onto the post, I'm bringing you my top a/w lipsticks. I'm a huge fan of dark, moody lips during a/w, it just ties the look together. Usually darker clothes and make up is what I tend to go for, I've been wearing so much black, it's crazy, I always try to add colour when picking outfits but from head to toe, I've been wearing black. Don't you guys like the all black look? I do like the look.

I've been wearing my dark purple Nivea lipstick a lot, I love how it looks and how dark it is. It's definitely a statement lipstick, you don't have to do a lot with your face because the lipstick makes the face, if that makes sense. Nude shades are also my favourites too, they go great with dark eye make up! What's your favourite shade lipstick for a/w?

If you saw my a/w lip combos, the red and purple combos, you'd see the lip liners I use with the lipsticks, sometimes I mix and match to make a different shade.

These are my top lipsticks for a/w, what are yours?
Thanks for reading lovelies

MUA Glamour Nights Eye Shadow Palette | Review

Hello beauty lovers,

I've got a palette review for you today, I purchased this MUA palette back in July for my birthday and I've been testing it out since and I've got an opinion on every shade. I'm not going to bore you with that kind of analysis, just my favourites and least favourites.

At £4, this palette is great value for a drugstore brand and I'm happy I can trust MUA to give me good products for amazing prices.

My favourites from this palette are the navy, black, grey and brown shade. I bought this palette to help venture into colour but the more neutral ones seem to be my favourite shades. The black shade is incredibly pigmented, got to be careful when applying it haha. I love the navy shade, I use it all the time, it's quite dark for everyday use but I really like it and brighten it up with some white eyeliner and a lighter in the inner corner.

My least favourite shades are the green, purple and occasionally the red shade. First of all, they're not as pigmented as I thought they would, the purple shade is quite chalky and don't really like green and shimmer together. The red shade is an on and off for me, sometimes I want it to be more pigmented, other times I love the way it is, depends on the look I'm going for.

Another downside for me was that it's not a palette I could live off as the colours aren't as easy to put together as the Undressed palette, I usually use one or two shades from this palette and use my Undressed palette to bring it together.

Overall, I really like this palette, especially the neutral shades, it defeats the purpose of buying a palette for testing out more colours but I'm quite happy with the palette as a whole.

What are your opinions on this MUA palette? Let me know guys,
thanks for reading
