Review | Faith In Nature*

Happy Weekend!

I'm a sucker for good skincare products so when I given the opportunity to test out Faith In Nature's products, I jumped at the chance!

Faith In Nature is a brand that offers hypoallergenic skincare products which leaves the skin soft and supple. They are cruelty free, free from parabens, mineral oils, artificial colours and fragrances.

I was sent the Coconut Hand Lotion (50ml) and the Lavender Body Lotion (150 ml) both of which are popular aromas among their ranges.
I'm someone that doesn't love overpowering smells so at first I was a bit apprehensive but when I pumped the hand lotion and rubbed it in, I was instantly hooked! The smell was perfect, it wasn't overbearing, it had that smell you'd want any hand lotion to have.

I only needed a coin sized amount for my hands to be fully moisturised and feeling soft.
It didn't leave any sticky residue which I was super pleased about because I hate when a moisturiser makes my hands sticky/rubbery and I can't touch my phone or my laptop keyboard.
My hands soak up moisture so quickly so I was happy to see that my hands were still moisturised after 2 hours or so before I went to inevitably wash my hands.

The body lotion was similar but the smell was a little stronger but still not overbearing.
To test it out, I used it on my arms mainly because I hate dry elbows and I wanted to see if it could last throughout the day.
Again, my skin soaks up moisture fast but I was surprised to see my arms relatively moisturised and not ashy by the end of the day even whilst wearing a jumper that usually does steal my moisture.

I am super pleased with both products, I will continue to use them and I have to recommend them to you all.
Faith in Nature offer so much, from hair care to home care, there is something for everyone.
All their products are super affordable and because there is such a wide range of products on there, you're bound to fall in love with something. I've currently got my eye on their Pineapple and Lime Pure Handmade Soap! Sounds yummy. . . I mean squeaky clean!

Definitely take a look at their site (link), I'm sure you won't regret it! Hope you guys liked this review and are having a great weekend!

OOTD | Vintage Levi's

Primark Oversized Check Shirt | Levi's Vintage Mom Jeans | Primark Aviator Jacket (old)
Peacocks Messenger Bag (old) | Nike Satires | Hair Info

Hi guys,

I've got an OOTD for you today, I've been shopping like crazy so over the next few OOTD's, I'll be showing you guys how I style my new pieces.

I bought these vintage Levi jeans a couple of months ago and completely forgot to show you guys.
These are my favourite jeans at the moment, I've worn them so many different ways, so many that I'm thinking to do a 'how I style' series.

I bagged them for a lovely £23 from a vintage shop in the Brick Lane area called Blitz Vintage. It was actually recommended to us (us being the class) by our senior lecturers who wanted us to do a vintage project.
I obviously took that as an opportunity to shop when I got there but I couldn't help it. There was so much stuff to fall in love with.
When I go back, I have to get myself a jacket, I have to, I need to haha!

For this outfit, I wanted to keep in touch with my boyish side by wearing an oversized shirt with the baggy jeans. I loved how the shirt and jeans were similar blues, it made this outfit look well put together.
I threw on my aviator jacket, which I also love which gave the outfit a very 90's look.

A neutral coloured bag was a must because I wanted the blues to stand out.
It took me ages to decide on the shoes but ended up going for my blue laced Satires which I think worked quite well with the outfit.
What do you guys think?

That's all for today, hoped you liked my outfit, let me know if you want a 'how I style' series with these jeans. I love to do it for you guys.
I've got a couple outfits planned already so make sure you all keep your eyes peeled!

Thanks for reading lovelies!

NEW IN | Superdrug Cucumber Peel Off Mask + Repurchases

Hi everyone,

I purchased a few skincare bits recently and a girl's gotta share them with you!

I love a good face mask so when Superdrug's Detoxifying Mask (review) went down well with me, I knew I had to delve deeper and get another one.
I've watched some YT videos and quite a few beauty vloggers mentioned a peel-off mask and how great their skin felt afterwards so I knew I had to get one.

I'd tried a mask from Superdrug's skincare range so I knew I wanted to stick with what I know and go for the peel-off mask. For £2.59, I'd say why not?

I've used it a few times and can't wait to do a review for you guys.
If you're on a budget or just want to try something different, definitely check out Superdrug's skincare range, I love it!

Onto these skincare gems.
They are actually repurchases, I've repurchased them both three times already and I don't think I'll change using them unless they discontinue them (please don't Superdrug, my skin's on the line here!).
They're both £2.59 each and sometimes they do a 2 for £4 deal or Buy 1, Get 1 Free so I always take advantage of these deals and buy them at the same time.

There's no strict regime on how I use them and just try and use them in a way that they finish around the same time.

That's it for today guys, I really recommend their skincare range especially if you have oily skin, these products work really well for me and for the price, I can't complain.

Take care guys,
Jesslyn

NEW NAILS

 Hey guys!

What a start to the week, I feel so drained. I decided (with friends obvi!) to go on a Monday evening shopping spree after uni and boy, am I tired.
I picked up some amazing gems and cannot wait to show you guys in the next couple of posts!
Other than being tired, I'm in a great frame of mind and I'm looking forward to the end of January and the start of February, the year is flying by.

Now, onto the post.
I get my nails done on a regular basis and I've had pointy nails for the past 8 months so I thought, it's time to change it up.
I decided to get my nails squared up, I definitely prefer pointy nails but change is always good.
It feels weird to have square nails, they're so much harder to work with, it's going to take some getting used to.
They're also quite short, to get them this shape, I had to cut them down (which I was sad about).
I want them way longer so it's going to take at least two refills (4-6 weeks) to grow them out to the length I want them.

For the colour, I went back to black, I love the way black looks on my nails so it was only right to christen the new shape with some black polish!

That's all for now, hope you're all well and having a great start to the week!

Review | MAC Tinted Lipglass in Lust

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone's having a great weekend, I've been quite busy this week, haven't had a day to rest like I usually do but hey, life isn't fair.
I'm back into my regular gym schedule which I'm super pleased about and uni work is under control so yay, I have more time to focus on my blog and chill!

But anyways, with my weekly make up routine, I stick to a basic look which is quite natural, a flawless base, coral toned blusher and obviously a nude lip.

It took me ages to find the perfect nude lip gloss after Superdrug made it impossible to find MUA's Plumping Lipgloss in Buff because it never seemed to be in stock.
So when on my trip to Berlin, I stopped at the MAC duty free counter (and nearly missed my flight!) to see if I could find a nude lipgloss I could wear daily. I was originally on a hunt for a lipstick but I couldn't make up mind so settled for a lip gloss.

When I first wore it, I didn't expect it to be so light, black girls know the struggle when it  comes to light lip products . . . ash central!
So, to sort it out, I lined my lips with a neutral toned lip liner and a nude lipstick and voila problem solved. Sometimes I don't wear lipstick and just use the liner by itself which gives the same effect, there's just less layers.

One thing I love about this lip gloss is that it's so pigmented and isn't sticky at all. I hate a sticky lip gloss, if I ever put one on, I have to wipe it off straight away.
This lip gloss or 'lip glass' glides onto the lip with the doe foot applicator (also not a fan of a squeezy lip gloss.)
I love doe foot applicators because it helps with putting on the right amount of product without wasting it, unlike a squeezy lip gloss where you can accidently squeeze out too much.

In terms of how long it lasts, I must admit, it doesn't last as long as I would like it to but it does like quite long. It rubs off as soon as you eat/drink, I rub my lips together quite a lot during the days so that probably contributes to it not lasting long. Having a liner on does help keep it on for longer though.

I do like the packaging, I wish the lip glass as a whole was bigger, you pay quite a bit for just a lip gloss so it would've been nice to have more product. Saying that, I've been using it for months now and it hasn't even scratched the surface so it is worth the money in that sense.

Because I got it at duty free, I managed to get it a little cheaper at £12.49 but it's usually £14.50 which is a huge difference but who doesn't love a discount.
I would definitely repurchase it, maybe a different shade of nude, if you're looking for a nude lipgloss I would definitely check out MAC'S Tinted Lipglass range.

Have you guys tried out any of the MAC's lip glasses, I'd love to know! If you want to see me wearing it, check out my instagram, all my pictures where I'm wearing nude, it is this lip glass.

Hope you guys like the review, thanks for reading,

Jesslyn

OOTD | The Puffer

H&M Cropped Jumper | Adidas Joggers | Primark Puffer
eBay Pom Pom Beanie | Nike Capri Trainers

What a cold week it has been!
Uni has been the only thing on my mind lately, I've had tons of work to catch up on so blogging has been pushed to the side a little bit.

However, I have an OOTD today for you guys.
In my previous, I mentioned that I managed to find 'The Perfect Puffer' so I definitely wanted to show you how I style it.

I'm a pretty casual dresser so this outfit more or less sums up what I look like on a daily basis when I don't want to dress up or wear tight skinny jeans.

As you can see, I'm wearing all back, my clothes rail is starting to look so colourless but I like it, I'm outgrowing colour but I hope I can get back into it before Summer!

Lastly, don't you guys just love my pom pom beanie?!
I got it on eBay for a sweet £2.80, tell me that's not a bargain. I've left the link above so you can get your hands on one. I've been wearing it nearly everyday haha

That's it for today, hope everyone's having a great week, make sure you keep your eyes peeled for a review and a haul over the next few days!

NEW IN | Primark Puffer

Puffer Jacket £15

Hey guys,

Yes, I finally, finally got my puffer jacket!
This has been on my lust list for ages and ages, I looked everywhere for one and I just couldn't find the perfect ond.
Hollister had one that I could put up with but it wasn't exactly what I wanted and splashing over £100 was not really something I wanted to do even though I was willing.

So, this is the story, my sister and I went to Primark a couple of weeks ago and we saw the white versions on this jacket, we were so tempted to get them but resisted because they were white.
So we didn't get them and hoped that they would bring in a black version.
A week later, I went to Westfield and saw they had an army print version but again I resisted because  I really wanted a black one.
Now, Christmas present shopping, the time when you're not really supposed to shop for yourselves but the sister and I were cheeky and went to check if their jackets were in, in black and voila!
They were there and we jumped on them and bought them before we could even think about what we were doing.

So yes, I've been wearing it everywhere and for everything. It's my winter jacket for now, I love it, it's so warm and suits my style so well. My uni lecturer even said he likes my style, he said, 'it's elegant, classy but casual too'. Interesting mix, I say!

For £15, I'd say Primark, you did a job well done!
I'm in love with this jacket, you guys will definitely see it in future OOTD's!

Hope everyone's well and thanks for reading,
Jesslyn

Review | ELF Daily Brush Cleaner

Hey everyone,

I've got a beauty review for you today!

ELF is a great brand and offer a wide range of products, I bought a few things a while back so over the next week or so, I'll be reviewing the bits I got.

First up, the Daily Brush Cleaner.

I honestly purchased this because I am lazy as anything. Washing my make up brushes is not my favourite thing to do so I was glad there was a product out there that could be a quick fix.
I'm not saying I use this instead of washing my brushes, I just don't panic when I need to use a brush that's dirty!

At first I thought that it wouldn't work and it wouldn't get my brushes clean enough but it definitely does work.
I know a lot people say it doesn't work but I don't think the cleaner is supposed to get your brushes completely clean, just clean enough to use once or to clean your brushes in between changing shades.

I personally use it when I've forgotten to wash a brush I desperately need or if I need to change shades when doing my eyeshadow.

It's super easy to use. I just spray the brush on both sides and then rub the brush in circular motions onto a paper towel until the brush is clean. You can repeat the process until you feel satisfied with the results.

As you can see from the images above, the brush isn't completely clean but there's not caked concealer still on the brush. This brush was really dirty and I wouldn't have used it unless I'd washed it or used this spray.

I love it, it's great for the lazy ones and for those that need to quickly change shades.
I'll definitely repurchase, also the bottle seems small but it goes a long way, I've had it for months now and I haven't used a lot at all.

Have any of used this Daily Brush Cleaner, did you like it or was it not worth leaving a dirty brush another day?
I'd love to know because there was mixed opinions on this!

Hope everyone's had a  great weekend and looking forward to the week, I'm back to uni *cries*!

New Hair | Brazilian Body Wave (Ali Luvin' Hair Review)

Hi everyone!

As you can see, I've changed my hair once again. I have a thing for planning what hairstyles I want to try out next. I have my hairstyles planned out for the whole year, I know, crazy!

This time for my change of hair, I really wanted to try out some new hair so went over to AliExpress (as you do) to find something.
I personally think that the easiest way to find good hair on AliExpress is to go by the amount of orders the seller has received and the feedback. Reading the feedback is vital, especially if you're new to buying on there.

So onto the process and review.
I'm someone that loves volume so I knew I didn't want straight hair so I went with something that had a bit more volume which was the Brazilian body wave.

I ordered the lengths 12, 14, 16 and 18 (inches) and a 10 inch free part closure. In total, I paid 75.99 for all the bundles. I let Jack (the seller) know that I needed the hair ASAP and he communicated so well throughout the whole process. Any questions I had, he answered them promptly.
I ordered the hair on a Wednesday and it came on the Monday before Christmas which I was super happy about because I really wanted my hair done for Christmas.
As soon as the hair had arrived (delivered by a very beautiful UPS guy lol), I got straight on to making a wig.
I sewed it on to a men's spandex dome cap just like you would do a sew in and then sewed on the closure last. Before I did any sewing, I measured out the size of the closure so there would be enough space for it after I sewed in all the bundles.

So it took me about an hour to sew everything in and then I proceeded to wash the hair, I shampooed it twice and then conditioned it. The curls came back so I was super happy to see that. I didn't wash the hair before I installed it because I didn't want the hair to tangle while it was wet when I was sewing.

I did the flip over method to help minimise shedding which has helped because  I've only had a few strands while brushing and when I wash it.

I was a bit apprehensive to use a lace closure because 1. I've never worn a wig before and 2. It could look so bad if you don't wear or install it right.
But I watched a few tutorials on YT and I soon got a hang of how to make a lace closure look natural.
I didn't bleach the knots because I didn't want to damage the closure so I just use concealer to help blend the closure with my scalp.

Overall, I love the hair and it's very good quality, there's minimal shedding and tangling even when I've washed it.
The closure blends so well with all the bundles, the only downside to the closure is a bit small for me and I wish it was slightly bigger.
All the bundles are true to length and even some being longer.
I definitely recommend this hair to you guys, I absolutely love it. I love it even more because I made the wig myself and it turned out great.
Jack was a great communicator and made the whole process stress-free especially around the Christmas period.

If you're looking for good quality Brazilian, I really recommend Ali Luvin' Hair, they're affordable and so worth it.
Look forward to rocking my body wave some more haha

Hope you guys liked my review on this hair, people always ask what I wear on my head when I do my new hair posts so I thought I'd review the hair for you all.

Thanks for reading!

NEW IN | Canon EOS 1200D with 18-55mm + 75-300mm Telephoto Lens

Hi guys!

Yes I did! I purchased a DSLR and I'm super, super happy.

It's been on my wishlist for ages and I mentionned it in my New Year wishlist. I really wanted a DSLR for everything to be honest, not just for blogging.
Having a new camera for blogging is a huge plus as it means less editing and generally nicer pictures.
It also means better quality images for my uni sketchbooks and lovely family pictures too!

I bought the camera on sale from PC World, I managed to get the camera with a 18-55mm lens and a 75-300mm lens as a package deal for £319.
It was a bit of a splurge but it was totally worth it.

I will be doing a full review when I've learnt most things about it, look forward to beautiful images on here.
I just had to introduce my new baby to you guys!

Hope everyone's having a great week,
Jesslyn x

OOTD | Family Dinner

Topshop V-Neck Jumper | Primark Jeans & Jacket | eBay Bag | Primark Suede Court Heels

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd show you guys an OOTD that I wore the other night for a family dinner.
I hardly dress up so when I have the chance to, I get excited haha

I went pretty casual but I dressed it up with a pair of heels, jewellery and fur always makes an outfit look dressy right?

I've been loving wearing navy lately, like I mentionned in my 'New Year, New Things' post, black can be a bit dark so navy is a great alternative.

These cobalt blue court heels give me life. That bright shade of blue can brighten up any outfit.
I managed to steal them for £9 from Primark. It was a while ago so you probably won't find them anymore but there are great alternatives on ASOS and Office. You could also check eBay because someone's always selling these.

Cream goes so well with navy so I had to finish off this outfit with cream handbag from eBay!

What do you guys think? Is navy your colour, I'm loving it especially for A/W!
Let me know what your 'colour' is.

Thanks for reading guys,

Jesslyn

New Year, New Things

Armani Jeans Patent Tote | ASOS Faux Shearling Duffle Coat
Canon EOS 1200D DSLR Camera with 18-55mm + 75-300mm Telephoto Zoom Lens
Polo Neck Jumper | Gladiator Sandal Heels

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone's enjoying the start of 2015. I know some of you are like 'ugh!' cause today's Monday and you're back to work/uni/ school and others are like me, hitting the gym or umm, chilling on the sofa in their pj's (I don't judge!) because you still have a week of freedom.

I've been writing up my goals and resolutions and trying to write up a new blog schedule.
I'm in this weird state where I want to just change everything and refresh!

My wardrobe needs a revamp, my style's changing slightly and I think it's time for a huge clear out so I can buy new bits and bobs. Jackets are one of my weaknesses so it wouldn't hurt to buy a few for this crazy cold Winter. Also, handbags are a must, they're great for changing up an outfit.

I need more staple pieces in my wardrobe so I have more to mix and match with.
Grey and navy are becoming my new favourite colours to wear, I love how chic they look especially when you wear them throughout your whole outfit.
I want to try nude and khaki, maybe that's what my wardrobe needs!

Now, I've been going on and on about wanting a new camera, a DSLR to be exact so I had a look around and found the Canon EOS 1200D, I really, really want (and need) it.

When I said jackets were one of my weaknesses, shoes are my other weaknesses, trainers mainly. However, I haven't really fallen in love with any pairs recently and the pairs I have liked, there's been no way I can get my hands on them.
So when I can't get trainers, I get heels, there's nothing in between (except for boots in A/W!)
There are so many beautiful heels out there and they mostly look nice on other people however, I always seem to find something wrong about them. " There's too many toes showing", "I don't like the way that straps sits", "They look a bit dated, don't they?".
There's always something with me but I've fallen in love with these gladiator-esque heels, they're just amazing. You could wear them in so many ways!

As you guys can probably tell, I'm going to be broke by the end of January if I'm not careful. It's inevitable though at this time of the year, doesn't anyone else get like this?
I'm so excited for this year, I am planning my Summer away, my hairstyles, I'm more than excited haha

Hope everyone's been feeling good, thanks for reading lovelies,

Jesslyn x
