I LOVE Cosmetics Home Fragrance Range*

*This post contains gifted items, all views/opinions/experiences expressed within the post are all my own.

I'm a happy woman when my bedroom is filled with amazing scents, I live for candles and reed diffusers because they calm the atmosphere and for me, a calm atmosphere means a calm and clear mind.

I LOVE Cosmetics is a brand that offers a wide range of beauty and skincare products, they decided to expand and launch a home fragrance range which I think is a great addition. When I was asked if I'd like to try out the new range, I most definitely couldn't say no. I can never say no to a candle!
However that wasn't the only thing that made me want to try them. On looking into the brand, I discovered that they're against animal testing, vegan friendly, their products don't contain any chemicals and are also made in the UK which is amazing.

When I opened the package, it honestly felt like Christmas day, they have amazing packaging, would be great for gifting, I didn't even want to take anything out because it looked so precious!
Straight away I lit the Violet Dreams candle and my bedroom was filled with a strong but sweet, floral scent. I quickly opened the diffuser to enhance the 'experience' and it complimented the candle very well, it was't overpowering at all. I could definitely smell the rose scent, usually when you're body is lacking vitamins or healing agents, it usually responds well to scents you need, in my case, it was the rose. Rose has anti-inflammatory properties so I'm not surprised that was the scent that my body called for.

I had a quick smell of the English Rose reed diffuser, again, I loved it and saved it for when the Violet Dreams one eventually finishes, it's quite a big diffuser in comparison to ones I usually buy, so I can see it lasting ages. It's been a few days since having it in my bedroom and I love how it's settling in.

I LOVE Cosmetics is a new brand to me, I was impressed to know they were shortlisted for two Pure Beauty Awards which gives me a lot of confidence in terms of wanting to try more from them.
They offer so many products, I'd love to try their bath salts and exfoliators next, there's so many scents to choose from, I have my eye on the Vanilla Milk bath salt though!

Definitely check out their website and social channels, you might find something you like, whether it be for yourself or as a gift for someone. Have you tried anything from I Love Cosmetics, I'd love to know what you've tried and how you got on!

First Impressions | Creme of Nature Flexible Styling Snot*

*This post contains gifted items, all views/opinions/experiences expressed within the post are all my own.

I asked my Instagram via poll if they'd like me to review my bunch of PR hair or skincare products and the majority voted hair. They asked, so they shall receive!

I'm starting off with the Creme of Nature Flexible Styling Snot.

On the packaging, it claims to 'Control Edges, Smooth Hair, Tame Frizz, Provide Exotic Shine, Hold Twist Outs and Updos and Hold Flake-Free'. It also says it is formulated without 'Alcohol, Sulfates, Silicone, Mineral Oil and Petrolatum.'
It's describe as a 'maximum hold gel' and that it's 'putty like texture' will hold hairstyles in place all day.

The directions were pretty simple:
Apply to wet or dry hair. Work desired amount through hair to style.
With a styling tip:
Apply to edges and smooth with fingertips, small toothbrush or brush for desired look and hold.

My first impressions when applying it to my edges were, it holds very well, smells great and smooths hair nicely.
I took it a step further and continued to style my hair in flat twists just to see how the snot would react with being played with. I noticed a bit of flaking as the snot was drying nothing major but enough to be annoying.
I also noticed that my edges were rock hard by the time I had started styling the other side of my hair.
I'm someone that doesn't like my hair being rock hard when styled with gels mainly because of the aftermath and not being able to restyle my hair because of flaking or 'stiffness'.

The snot is quite sticky, I had to keep washing my hands to style my hair but that is a personal thing. I felt that that keeping my hands clean as I styled made it easier for me. I'm not sure if an yone else that has used the styling snot felt the same?

I kept the style for about 3 days and my edges didn't need re-styling at all, they were 'rock hard' in place, which to some would be a blessing, I loved it at first but washing it out was difficult.
My hair felt very dehydrated and needed serious deep conditioning. I'm not sure if it was because I kept the style in for 3 days.
The toughest part of the the entire application was washing it out, my hair felt like it needed 'soaking' before being conditioned or shampooed. This in itself was a major turn off for future use, I do need to use it more to figure whether having it inyour hair for less time impacts on this.

Overall, if you're looking for something that will guarentee a fast and strong hold, the Styling Snot is for you, I'd recommend it. However, be wary of keeping it in your hair for long periods of time as I found it very difficult to wash out but definitely feel free to style your hair in small areas and see how you get on with it.

Have you tried Creme of Nature's Flexible Styling Snot? What were your thoughts on it, is it a holy grail product for you? Let me know!

Take care, Jess x

Simple 'Kind to Eyes' Soothing Balm

The Simple eye cream bandwagon came and left and I'm now trying find the wagon to jump on. I'm not someone that falls for product hype because I'd rather buy products that I know could potentially work for me instead of seeing everybody else buy it and hope it works for me too.

I'm at that age where looking after your skin will determine what your skin will look like in 10 years. Your 20's are your free years, you want to be a free spirit and enjoy yourself but your body doesn't pause because you want to party. I am queen of allnighters, my brain is most creative at 2am, I love the extreme quiet and just being able to focus. It's all good until I've gone to sleep, woken up and my eyes look sunken in, dark with puffy eyelids.

I have hooded eyelids so I'm prone to puffy eyes, I've always disliked them, especially when I've got to leave the house 30mins after I've woken up!
This was the main problem that I wanted to fix.

This is where Simple's 'Kind to Eyes' Soothing Balm came into play.
I picked mine up from Superdrug for £3.99, which I thought was pricey for a 15ml tube. It's on sale now for £1.95 which is a more friendly price!

It consists of some good stuff, Pro-Vitamin B5, Vitamin E, Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter, Bisabolol and it has no artificial perfume/colour/harsh chemicals which is perfect for sensitive skin.
It says '. . . perfect blend of multi-vitamins and skin-loving ingredients to reduce puffiness, wind down and relax your tired eyes.'
Sounds great, doesn't it?

It instructs you to 'Apply morning and evening as a thin layer to your delicate eye area without massaging. Gently pat in until absorbed.'
The 'gently' patting was what I found difficult to remember, I'm so used to pounding a beauty blender under my eye that I tend to forget that it's a very delicate area prone to stretching and causing creases.
I'm impatient also so patting until absorbed was annoying but I wanted it to work so I did as told.

After about 2 weeks of using it, I noticed my eyes were brighter, the crease under my eye wasn't so visible and my puffiness had reduced significantly.
The picture above was taken 30mins after I'd woken up and completed my morning routine. I applied the balm and my eyes look ready to tackle the day.

What I love is that, it reduces my puffiness, the ingredients are great, it doesn't irritate my skin or make my eyes feels heavy, it's very moisturising and it doesn't affect the way my concealer sits under my eye. I also love that it's a squeezy tube and not a roll on, I hate roll on products, I just think bacteria, bacteria, bacteria!

The not so greats bits are, the size of the tube and the price for that size. I'd still buy it for that price because I know it works and it's lasted long for me but I'd definitely prefer to buy it on sale.

So that's it guys, take care of those tired eyes and get you some soothing balm, I'd recommend it!
Have any of you tried it? What are your thoughts?

Take care,
Jesslyn

Herbalife SKIN Protective Daily Moisturiser & Polishing Citrus Cleanser*

*This post contains gifted items by Herbalife SKIN, all views/opinions/experiences expressed within the post are all my own.

You guys know, looking after my skin is top priority, I love anything to do with skincare, I don't regularly switch up my routine or change my products because I like to stick to what I know and not mess with the oil levels of my face.
Finding products for oily skin is super hard and can be frustrating if your skin isn't agreeing with things you're spending your money and sometimes they can be pricey.
The thing is that's the only way until you find your holy grail and you eventually do.

I was sent some Herbalife SKIN products to test out, it's a new brand to me so I was pretty excited to try them out. Herbalife SKIN is "a collection of hard working botanical formulas that work hard around the clock to nourish, restore and treat skin."
I'm all for around the clock skincare, nothing fussy, gets the job done and my skin looks flawless.

I got to try the Protective Daily Moisturiser and Polishing Citrus Cleanser. I've been using them for about a month but solidly for 2 weeks which is enough time for my skin to decide whether it likes a product or not.

First up is the Protective Daily Moisturiser*. I tested this initially by just replacing my current moisturiser (La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo +) but still sticking to my daily cleansers and scrubs so I'd know if my skin didn't agree.
My first impression was that it was quite thick rubbing it together on my fingertips and then applying to my face, I noticed that it was quite greasy but it was a nice, moisturising greasy, heavier than my normal moisturiser. I was worried that it would make me break out but after a week's use, my skin was well moisturised throughout the day with no breakouts. I stopped using it so I could try the cleanser. After a week of trying the cleanser, I added the use of the moisturiser into the regime and my skin was loving it.
My skin felt very fresh and healthy, it had a glow to it and that could be down to the fact that it has SPF 30 in. Throughout the day, I didn't feel like I had a heavy layer on, even when I applied make up on top.
I'd say the only downside for me was that I couldn't use it at night, it was definitely too heavy for me and I prefer something light. I did try it and was very uncomfortable as I sleep on my face and noticed that I was literally rubbing my moisturised face into my pillow and all I could think was 'spottssss'!
Overall I do like it and have continued using it as daily moisturiser and then using my LRP Effaclar Duo + as my night moisturiser.

This is the Polishing Citrus Cleanser*. As I said above, I started using it a week after I had tried the moisturiser. My first impressions were, it had a very strong fragrance, so strong that it lingered on my skin even after rinsing and moisturising. Literally, it felt like I had rubbed the cleanser up my nostrils. I might be exaggerating however, if like me, you're not too keen on fragranced products, then be wary.
I continued to make it work because my face felt so refreshed after using it, my skin wasn't dry, I didn't break out.
It has little beads in to help with exfoliation, very easy to wash off as I've tried scrubs that have hard beads to wash out of nooks and crannies. The cleanser is very light and foams up nicely and then with splashes of water, it rinses off.
I really like using it, especially on days where I want to freshen up my face after a long day or a tough gym session.
My thing is just the fragrance but I can make it work!

So that's all guys, they're two great products, I'd recommend them!

Take care,
Jesslyn

Umoro One Shaker*

*This post contains a gifted item by bodybuilding.com, all views/opinions/experiences expressed within the post are all my own.

As you guys know, health and fitness have become very important parts of my life, going to the gym 4/5 days a week, eating clean and taking the necessary vitamins (will do a post in the near future) have become things that are second nature to me and what I do on a daily basis.

I love anything that makes my life easier so I was super excited when I was offered the chance to try the Umoro One Shaker. Now, to many, it probably looks like an ordinary water bottle but noooo, don't be fooled, if you're someone that has protein shakes, meal replacements, sports/dietary supplements etc. daily, the One Shaker could possibly be your bestie!

REVIEW | Make Up Revolution Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer

First review of the year and we're kicking it off with the velvet lip lacquer by Make Up Revolution.
If you've been reading for a while now, you'd notice that I quickly became a fan of Make Up Revolution last year. They are always fast to bring out the 'trendy' products and that's what I love about them.

Now, you guys know I was on the look out for some matte lippies and ended up purchasing the MUA Power Pout Acrylic thinking it would be somewhat matte but it wasn't.
So when I thought I'd try the Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer and it was a real matte lippy, I was super excited.

I wanted something dark, so I went for Black Heart because it sounded the darkest and oh boy, it's dark!

I'll start off with the good bits.
First of all, pigmentation on fleek. It does not lack in colour at all. I apply it with a liner but for the purposes of the review and testing it out, I applied it without. The colour lasts the entire until it starts to come off, it doesn't fade. (I'll explain more in the cons section)
Application is pretty easy, it doesn't drag the lip as you swipe it across, it has a doe-foot applicator too. I think a lip liner is a must for any pigmented lip product as they do bleed which can be very annoying. It also makes it easier to apply if you use a lip liner first. One very important thing to remember whilst applying this is, DO NOT rub your lips together whilst it's drying, it will mess it up and you'll have to reapply from scratch. Yep.
The packaging is nice, not much to say about it to be honest. Didn't excite me too tough but I do like the gold accents on it and the outer packaging is pretty lush for a high street brand.
The price is great, I bought it from Superdrug for £3 which I'd say is very cheap for a product like this. It's currently on sale on the Make Up Revolution site for £1.50 which is even better for any of you guys that want to purchase (or me, who wants to get another one haha)
Lastly, it's very easy to take off, it comes off in flakes so not much rubbing to do, it doesn't stain the lips which is great for a lippy so dark. Just a wipe will do and then commence with your regular skin care routine.

Now, the cons.
I'd start off by saying this, please do moisturise beforehand because it can become quite drying throughout the day. I'm someone that cannot stand dry lips and applying more of the lacquer on top will not help the situation.
Also, one thing I did notice when wearing it was that, it has great staying power when talking, smiling, drinking but as soon as you eat or purse your lips, it comes straight off. Most lip products fade but this one actually just disappears or separates, so if you've pursed your lips together, it will leave your lips bare, without any lacquer.
Quite strange I must say but it could be because of the matte effect. If you think that's something that would bother you, I wouldn't recommend it.

There isn't many bad things to say about it, I still do like it but I don't love, love it. It's a great product if you moisturise well and the staying power is pretty good for a lippy that isn't a stain.
I wouldn't repurchase this particular shade again but maybe a lighter one where the disappearing act isn't so noticeable. For £3 (or £1.50), you can't really complain, this is the first matte lacquer I've tried so I may try another one and compare it.
But for now, I'd still recommend for it's pigmentation and affordability!

What do you guys think? Have you tried the Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer?
I'd love to know your thoughts on it!

Thanks for reading and take care,
Jesslyn

REVIEW | MUA Power Pout Acrylic

In my previous post of these liquid lipsticks, I mentioned that I was on the hunt for some pigmented, long lasting lip products and I had finally found some.

MUA offer the Power Pout in many shades and I chose to go for two very different shades, a nude and a vampy purple.

First off, I want to say that these liquid lipsticks are not matte, I bought them thinking they were but they are in between a gloss and a matte. More of a lipstick formula.
It's not drying at all, in fact, very moisturising, I prepared myself for any drying effect because I originally thought it was matte.

They have a doe foot applicator which makes the application so much easier especially for lip products so pigmented. The only reason I don't like them is the fact the colour of the product starts to change a little when you apply the product over a liner, which happens with all my lip products with a doe foot. I hate it but that's just me, not the fault of the product and I wouldn't stop using a product because of that.

I love the packaging, it's very MAC-esque, very simple and sophisticated. MUA have always had nice packaging which is always great for an affordable brand.

Unwrapped is a pinky nude shade, I struggled with this one because it was a weird shade for my skin tone. So I tried it with a few lip liners before I settled for a reddish-brown liner that complimented it and my skin.
I'd usually where it on simple make up day, it's very subtle (when I wear it right) and I love its staying power.

Potency is a deep purple shade, very vampy and perfect for A/W! I am also wearing a lip liner that is slightly darker, it doesn't need a liner but it just helps stop the lippie from bleeding out.
Again, lasts very long, I re-apply maybe once, if that, throughout a long day.

So that's my review on MUA's Power Pout Acrylic, I really like them, I've been using them non-stop since I got them because they're easy to apply and they last long. They're only £3.50 a piece so that's super affordable for such a great product.

If you're looking for a matte lip product, this one isn't for you but I'd still recommend you get at least one for the collection!

That's all guys!

Thanks for reading my review,
Jesslyn

REVIEW | MAC Charged Water (Full Review)

On my way to Majorca, I picked up the MAC Charged Water Skin Hydrating Mist. I originally wanted the Fix + but they didn't have any in stock.
Duty free is the best opportunity for me to buy MAC products because I don't usually shop there and their products always last until I travel again.
So why not save some £££'s?

Anyway, I purchased the Hydrating Mist as an alternative and used it whilst on holiday and I actually loved it. It was so refreshing to mist on the beach, by the pool and so forth haha

I put it to the full test when I got back and I must say. it definitely did the job.
Whenever I felt that my face needed a bit of freshening up, I'd whip it out and spritz, spritz, voila!

It's especially great for after powdering or 'baking' your face, it eliminates the cakey look and gives you the flawless, glowy face.

I love the packaging, the lock and unlock feature is so smart and gets rid of having lids which is something I hate most. They always get lost and they you're left with an uncovered product.
Being able to twist it open and close is the best!

I bought this mist back in June, so 4 months ago and it's only half way. I use it every time I do my make up so it's lasted very long, plus I also use it throughout the day to refresh.

It's £17.50 but I picked it up in duty free for £14.99 which is a little bit of a discount.
I'd say it's worth the price, it's does a great job and it's a must have in the make up drawers!

I'd love to know if anyone has tried it! Did you like it? Is it worth the money?
Let me know!

Hope you're all well,
Jesslyn

REVIEW | Make Up Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour Kit

What's up guys?
Hope you're having a great weekend!

I have a review for you today.
I was super excited to see that Make Up Revolution introduced a contour kit, Sleek has always been the go-to for a contour kit so it's nice to see the smaller, upcoming brands expanding their range.

NEW IN + mini REVIEW | MAC Charged Water (Holiday Edition)

Hey guys,

I've got a little haul slash mini review for you today.
I've just got back from Majorca and boy, how I miss it already, the weather was amazing, all day, everyday however make up was a no-go.

REVIEW | La Roche Posay Effaclar Anti Blemish System

Hey guys,

My blogging schedule is all over the place but I wanted to get this review up sooner than later!
I purchased this kit back in March, right at the start. I've been using it almost daily since I got it.

I was first introduced to La Roche Posay last year when it was all the hype among the blogosphere.
I received a sample of the Effaclar Duo and it worked wonders on my skin so I definitely wanted to try different products.

When I finally got my hands on the Anti Blemish System, I was super excited to see how it would work on my face.
I have oily/combination skin and I know a lot of people had mentioned that it had made their skin dry but they said they had used it religiously until they realised.

As I mentioned, I started using it straight away and it has been just over 2 months so I definitely had the chance to fully test these products.
I have different opinions on each one so I'm going to review them separately.

First step in the system is the Purifying Foam Gel. It's supposed to help remove impurities that may lead to the appearance of blemishes and reduces excess sebum, leaving skin feeling clean and fresh.
It says you should apply it to lather it between your hands and apply it to a wet face and massage gently, no vigorous rubbing or flannels are needed.
And then rinse. Pretty simple.

What I like about this product is that it completely strips my face of unnecessary oils. I know that all nasties are being removed from my face. It doesn't wash away make up so it would be advised to properly take your make up off with a micellar water or make up remover first.

The downside of the gel is that it doesn't lather up enough for me, I like facial washes to lather up so it feels like it goes a long way. However, having it not lather up as much is a good way of making sure there's no residue left on the skin.
Also, although my face may feel super clean, it can be left quite dry if I don't finish all the steps in one go. If I am distracted, I notice that my skin feels very tight.

Next is the Effaclar Clarifying Toner, it should mattify, refine your skin texture and help reduce the appearance of pores. It's the second step in the system and it tells you to apply it to the face using a cotton pad.

I personally didn't like this product as much as I did the gel and duo [+] mainly because it made my skin so dry.
As I apply it to the skin, it drags it and makes me feel like it may be a bit harsh for me. It does make my skin smoother and the pores seem smaller.
One of the major turn offs were, after a couple weeks of using it, sensitive parts (around my eyes) of my face started to peel slightly due to dryness.

I calmed down the use of it to alternating days and night. If I used it in the morning of the Day 1, I wouldn't use it again until the night of Day 3. This helped a lot, I haven't been wearing much make up lately so it was easy to refrain from using it.

I did like it much more with the new system I was using.

Lastly, the Effaclar Duo [+], the moisturiser!
It claims to correct by reducing the appearance of blemishes and red and brown marks. Provides 24 hour hydration and creates an excellent base for makeup.

It's the last step and probably the most important for me. Having oily skin is a struggle and finding the right moisturiser is an even bigger struggle.
I loved using the Effaclar Duo and was delighted when they introduced the [+].

I'd say this is my favourite product of the 3, I love how it feels on my skin, it definitely lives up to 'excellent base for make up' statement, I love using it with my primer and it helps my base stick throughout the whole day.

If it used with all products from the system, you skin feels super smooth and cleansed.

Overall, I've made the system work for me, after weeks of trailing, I know that I can't over use the toner because it dries out my skin.
If you have super sensitive skin, I wouldn't recommend it because you will have a crazy dry skin and possibly some peeling like I did.
Because I have cut back on the use of the toner, it will last longer and my skin won't be as dry.

As a whole, I do like the Anti Blemish System, I've noticed a huge change in my skin, I don't get ginormous and sore pimples (TMI?) anymore. That was one of my major issues with having oily skin.
LRP offer a wide range of products for all skin types so definitely check out their website.

I will repurchase for £32.50, which is a bit expensive but so worth it, one product could retail for around £15 so definitely snap up the kit if you want all 3 products.
I do wish they had a mix and match system so you could pick whatever would suit your skin, that we be great and an amazing way of trying different products.

Have any of you tried the Effaclar Anti Blemish System?
Was you a fan or nah? I'd love to know!

Take care guys,
Jesslyn x

Review | ELF Maximum Coverage Concealer

Hey,

I hope everyone is having a great start to the weekend, the weather's actually been alright so I hope everyone took advantage of it.
I had a few days off uni so I took the time to spend more time with the family, I went rollerskating which was fun. I'm so busy at times so it's hard to find time for everything, if you missed it, check out what I get up to as fashion design student!

Because I don't have a lot of time, I like to stick to what I know and use it to it's death.
Which brings me to the ELF Cosmetics Maximum Coverage Concealer.

I bought it mainly because I needed a new concealer to replace my under eye concealer and maybe my eyebrow concealer.
I'm someone that prefers to shop for make up in person so picking the right shade online was a bit of a struggle.

I went with the shade Almond because it was the shade that seemed to match my skin tone the best.
I would say ELF don't really have a wide selection of shades to choose from which is a shame.

I've used it for the past 2 months or so, it hasn't made me break out which is usually my main problem when it comes to new products.
I have oily skin so it's hard to find products that don't trigger a breakout.
It is oil free so it's great for those that have oily/combination skin.

I used it mainly for under eye coverage, it has a matte finish which is great for everyday use, I'm someone that doesn't like to powder under the eye too much so having a concealer that has a matte finish is super helpful.

It's buildable so you can go really light or build it up for maximum coverage, I go for medium coverage which is enough for me on a daily basis.

I love the packaging, ELF are good for sleek packaging! I'm a huge fan of being able to see the concealer from the outside.

Overall, I do like the concealer and would recommend it.
However, they don't have a wide selection of shades so if you are looking to purchase, bare that in mind.
For £3.95, I'd say you can't go wrong, if you're lucky to find a shade that matches, definitely go for it!

Did you like it or nah?
I'd love to know if anyone of you have tried this concealer!

Take care guys,
Jesslyn x

Review | MAC Fix +

Hi guys!

February is flying by, I can't believe I've only got a month or so left of my first year at uni.
Crazy right?

I've been changing a lot lately, my style, my make up routine, skincare routine, everything really.
I'm not someone who likes change but when I do change, I feel so refreshed.

As I am talking about change, I wanted to share with you guys, my new addition to the my make up routine.
I usually use MUA's Fixing Mist but we had a love-hate relationship, I didn't like using it as a fixing mist but as a primer instead. Definitely check out my review where I discussed about how I tried it again and quite liked it! Let me know you're experiences if you've used it.

I also mentioned that I had my eye on the MAC Fix+ and on my trip to Berlin, back in October, I stopped at duty free and picked it up.

I've been using it since and I love it!
Not only do I use it to set my make up, I also use it to prime my face and refresh during the day or after the gym.

I bought the travel sized one but I so wish I could've bought the regular size however it is a good size for carrying around in the ol' make up bag.

I've been using it daily since October and it's nowhere near finished. I haven't broken out using it which usually happens with MAC products but I've been completely fine.

It sets my make up perfectly, I spray it with confidence after applying my full face of make up.
I absolutely love using it after the gym to refresh my skin and give my skin some moisture.
I only do my eyebrows when I go to the gym ( I need them!) so you can imagine I look a state so having the Fix + is so useful.

I have oily skin and it has definitely helped me out, I'd so recommend it.
I know MAC is a bit on the pricey side but £10 for the travel size and £15.50 for the regular is so worth it! I got it for £8.49 or around that at duty free and I'm so glad I bought it.
I will definitely repurchase, it's a great investment for my make up lovers!

What are your opinions, are you a Fix + fan?
I'd love to know!

Take care guys,
Jesslyn x

Review | ELF Blush Brush

Hi guys,

Got a little review for you today, I love ELF Cosmetics, they have such a wide range of products and tools for affordable prices. like brands such as MUA and Make Up Revolution.

I really wanted to try their brushes so I ordered their Blush Brush to test out.
This brush is anti-bacterial and is a synthetic haired Taklon brush. It can be used with powder or liquid products and the design aids easy and precise application.

I use this brush for blusher and sometimes for highlighting my cheekbones.
What I love the most about this brush is how it picks up the product, I never end up with too much product on my brush.

The brush is very soft and easy super easy to wash, it doesn't molt which makes me happy because I hate brush bristles on my face when I'm applying my makeup. Who does?!

With it being easy to wash, I don't have to rub the brush around vigorously which can shorten the life span of the brush. The brush has sustained it's quality after washing it a few times!

So that's it for my ELF Blush Brush review, I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a brush for the cheek area and need it to aid precise application.
I definitely want to try out more brushes from ELF, being only £3.95, I'd say I bagged a bargain and will most definitely repurchase for myself or as gifts for others.

Hope you guys liked my review, have any of you tried the Blush Brush, I'd love to know!

Thanks for reading and take care,
Jesslyn x

Review | Faith In Nature*

*samples gifted for a review, all views are my own.

Happy Weekend!

I'm a sucker for good skincare products so when I given the opportunity to test out Faith In Nature's products, I jumped at the chance!

Faith In Nature is a brand that offers hypoallergenic skincare products which leaves the skin soft and supple. They are cruelty free, free from parabens, mineral oils, artificial colours and fragrances.

I was sent the Coconut Hand Lotion (50ml) and the Lavender Body Lotion (150 ml) both of which are popular aromas among their ranges.
I'm someone that doesn't love overpowering smells so at first I was a bit apprehensive but when I pumped the hand lotion and rubbed it in, I was instantly hooked! The smell was perfect, it wasn't overbearing, it had that smell you'd want any hand lotion to have.

I only needed a coin sized amount for my hands to be fully moisturised and feeling soft.
It didn't leave any sticky residue which I was super pleased about because I hate when a moisturiser makes my hands sticky/rubbery and I can't touch my phone or my laptop keyboard.
My hands soak up moisture so quickly so I was happy to see that my hands were still moisturised after 2 hours or so before I went to inevitably wash my hands.

The body lotion was similar but the smell was a little stronger but still not overbearing.
To test it out, I used it on my arms mainly because I hate dry elbows and I wanted to see if it could last throughout the day.
Again, my skin soaks up moisture fast but I was surprised to see my arms relatively moisturised and not ashy by the end of the day even whilst wearing a jumper that usually does steal my moisture.

I am super pleased with both products, I will continue to use them and I have to recommend them to you all.
Faith in Nature offer so much, from hair care to home care, there is something for everyone.
All their products are super affordable and because there is such a wide range of products on there, you're bound to fall in love with something. I've currently got my eye on their Pineapple and Lime Pure Handmade Soap! Sounds yummy. . . I mean squeaky clean!

Definitely take a look at their site (link), I'm sure you won't regret it! Hope you guys liked this review and are having a great weekend!

Review | MAC Tinted Lipglass in Lust

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone's having a great weekend, I've been quite busy this week, haven't had a day to rest like I usually do but hey, life isn't fair.
I'm back into my regular gym schedule which I'm super pleased about and uni work is under control so yay, I have more time to focus on my blog and chill!

But anyways, with my weekly make up routine, I stick to a basic look which is quite natural, a flawless base, coral toned blusher and obviously a nude lip.

It took me ages to find the perfect nude lip gloss after Superdrug made it impossible to find MUA's Plumping Lipgloss in Buff because it never seemed to be in stock.
So when on my trip to Berlin, I stopped at the MAC duty free counter (and nearly missed my flight!) to see if I could find a nude lipgloss I could wear daily. I was originally on a hunt for a lipstick but I couldn't make up mind so settled for a lip gloss.

When I first wore it, I didn't expect it to be so light, black girls know the struggle when it  comes to light lip products . . . ash central!
So, to sort it out, I lined my lips with a neutral toned lip liner and a nude lipstick and voila problem solved. Sometimes I don't wear lipstick and just use the liner by itself which gives the same effect, there's just less layers.

One thing I love about this lip gloss is that it's so pigmented and isn't sticky at all. I hate a sticky lip gloss, if I ever put one on, I have to wipe it off straight away.
This lip gloss or 'lip glass' glides onto the lip with the doe foot applicator (also not a fan of a squeezy lip gloss.)
I love doe foot applicators because it helps with putting on the right amount of product without wasting it, unlike a squeezy lip gloss where you can accidently squeeze out too much.

In terms of how long it lasts, I must admit, it doesn't last as long as I would like it to but it does like quite long. It rubs off as soon as you eat/drink, I rub my lips together quite a lot during the days so that probably contributes to it not lasting long. Having a liner on does help keep it on for longer though.

I do like the packaging, I wish the lip glass as a whole was bigger, you pay quite a bit for just a lip gloss so it would've been nice to have more product. Saying that, I've been using it for months now and it hasn't even scratched the surface so it is worth the money in that sense.

Because I got it at duty free, I managed to get it a little cheaper at £12.49 but it's usually £14.50 which is a huge difference but who doesn't love a discount.
I would definitely repurchase it, maybe a different shade of nude, if you're looking for a nude lipgloss I would definitely check out MAC'S Tinted Lipglass range.

Have you guys tried out any of the MAC's lip glasses, I'd love to know! If you want to see me wearing it, check out my instagram, all my pictures where I'm wearing nude, it is this lip glass.

Hope you guys like the review, thanks for reading,

Jesslyn
