What's In My Sewing Kit?

Embroidery Scissors
Fabric Scissors
Pens
Pencils
Rubber
Tracing Wheel
Needles
Pins
Thimble
Unpicker
Tape Measure
Notepad

Hey everyone,

I got a shock text, the day before yesterday, from my college tutor saying I had college yesterday, I was so annoyed. I planned to be ready for Thursday, seeing a text on Monday shocked my system. However, I was ready but shocked at how I had to be up and out the house by 9 after being off for 2 months.

Anywho! Every lesson I have, I've got to make sure I've got my college essentials eg. fabric scissors, pins etc. so I put together 'a sewing kit' to take to college halfway through my first year and it really helped.

My mum purchased the A5 sized tin from Aldi for £2.99 and it had a tape measure, tracing wheel and some other bits which I put into my sewing tool box and put the ones I usually use, into the tin.

I put all the things listed above into this small tin, which is great because I carry all that in my bag and it doesn't take up too much space inside and I still have a lot of space to throw everything else in!

I'd really recommend you make up a kit if you need to carry all the stuff I do, it really helps and stops you forgetting things at home if you can be a bit unorganised or forgetful.

If you'd like me to do a what's in my college bag post, let me know!

Hey fashionistas!

First of all, apologies for the 'oily faced' pictures at the start, it was the end of the day, I just got in and remembered I hadn't snapped any photos for the blog. Doh!
Second of all, no natural lighting was used for these pictures, dark outside so full on flash, yeah, hence my orange face. Double doh!

Enough of justifying myself, onto the outfit.

I couldn't wait to wear this pinafore, if you saw my 'pinafore' post that I put up a couple of days ago, I expressed my love for it.
I had this outfit planned for weeks and was just waiting for college to come round.

After having a pretty wasted day at college (only went in for an hour and a half), I headed to Oxford Street to check out some shops and make use of the fact that I got myself up and ready, out of the house, looking decent.
Due to being 'decent-looking', I was stopped outside Topshop by a group of college students asking to take pictures of me for their school project, I just smiled and said 'yeah, of course'.
It was so weird because I usually hate people taking pictures of me when I'm not ready but it was such a surprise that I just said yes.

Enough rambling, I'm super excited for Autumn and I can't wait to start wearing all my Autumn clothes and make up haha, are you guys excited?

What was your first day back outfit? Would you wear mine and how would you wear it?
Let me know lovelies!

Also, don't forget to follow me on bloglovin', keep up to date with my posts,

Back To College Mini Haul

White Blouse - (random shop on the high street)
Trousers - Select
MUA Mono Eyeshadow - Shade 19 Matte
MUA Blusher - Candyfloss
Nike Satires - JD Sports
Bag - Primark

Hey lovelies,

Another haul post for you guys, I haven't bought a lot as I'm planning to save up to buy some great A/W pieces.
Obviously, before you start school/college etc you buy all your stationery, notebooks and all.
I have 5 siblings so my mum thinks it's best to buy stationery in bulk and then split it between us, which is a great way of saving money if you have a big family.

Anyway onto the bits I bought, first of all, I'd been saving up for a pair of trainers for the longest time but the pair I wanted didn't feel right when I tried it on. So I decided to get a different pair which I love and the good thing is I still have money to buy another pair. YES!

Clothes. You know them random shops on the high street that no one really goes into? yeah, I decided to have a little snoop and found a white blouse for £4, I was so happy 'cause I love bargains and it's a staple piece for college.
Also, I was on the hunt for some trousers as most of my bottoms are jeans, I went into Select and found a pair of chinos, I want some printed trousers though!

My mum has told me to stop buying make up because I 'have enough' and others around me agree but I can't help buying it, even if it's one or two products to add to the collection.
I went into Superdrug and picked up a blusher and eye shadow just to try out after being a bit upset that I couldn't find the leather jacket I wanted (excuses!)

And lastly, a bag! Primark are bringing out some great items this A/W. I love the size of this bag, I was searching for a large tote bag for college as I needed one that could fit my sewing kit, notebook, pencil case and all my other rubbish in.
I was debating whether to get the black or the tan one, when I met up with my sister, she quickly decided for me 'the brown one!' so I got it.

That was my mini haul, I'm sure most of you have gone back to school/college/ etc but I still have a week to go!
What pieces did you buy for school? What are you wearing too?
I'd love to know!

Thanks for reading!

Pinafore

Pinafore - New Look

Hey!

This pinafore was bought at the end of July and I haven't worn it out yet, I have so many outfits planned out with it. I love trying it on and thinking of different ways to style it.

I've decided that my pinafore is going to be part of my 'first day of college' outfit, OOTD post to come!

I think it's so easy to style because it's black, it's definitely going to be one of my favourite pieces to wear, I think crossing the braces makes the pinafore look more interesting but if you want a different look, you can wear it without crossing it.

I can't wait to wear and style it, how would you style a black pinafore?

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil Review

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

Hey everyone,

A couple of months ago, I started using this deep cleansing oil. It was in a goodie bag I purchased when I attended Graduate Fashion Week.

The product claims to 'help unclog pores by clearing impurities, dirt and make up. All you have to do is rinse and your face is fresh and clean.' It says that it's for all skin types, I have oily skin. Applying oils to oily skin confused me a bit but it didn't make me break out or make my skin extra oily.

When I first started using the product, I noticed a big difference with my skin. My skin was much smoother and was definitely more 'fresh'.

I apply it on top of make up by massaging it on as it suggests, which can get messy, I leave it on for 15 mins and during that time I can see my make up slowly dissolving which is so cool, I get excited over stuff like this.
I then use my L'Oreal 3 in 1 Micellar Solution and cotton pad to get it off and it just slides off.

I must say I cannot get my make up off by just rinsing, I will definitely not have a fresh and clean face, some type of scrubbing is got to be done. If I could just rinse my face, I'd be jumping over the moon!

It's one of them products that you use when you can't be asked to take your make up off, it helps speed up the process which is a bonus for me, I'm the laziest person ever and anything that speeds up make up removal, I'm happy to use.

I haven't tried any other deep cleansing oils so I can't compare it to anything but it definitely is a great product and I'd definitely purchase it again and recommend it. Have you tried any deep cleansing oils that you'd recommend?

P.S I've done a button swap with Bethany from Perpetual Style, she's a great blogger, go have a little look and say hi from me :)

August Lust List '13

Nike Satire - JD Sports
Pale Pink Crombie - Primark
Hello Poem Snood - Topshop

Hey everyone!

September's finally here and I'm so excited for Autumn. My lust list is pretty simple this month as a/w wear has taken over half of my list.

I've been wanting a pair of trainers for the longest time but I keep changing my mind on which pair I actually
want, during August I've been wanting the Nike Satires, I tried them on and they look great so I don't think I'm going to be lusting for very long!

Jackets and coats. I love buying jackets, I don't know why. At the end of the school year when we had to clear out our lockers, mine was always full of coats and jackets. At the end of my last year, I even had to throw some away 'cause I couldn't carry them all home *tear drops* I blame British weather.
I can't wait to purchase some jackets and coats and rock them throughout a/w!

I haven't been that excited with make up lately as I bought quite a bit of make up during summer but I want a new blusher and MUA's Bubblegum is the solution.

Accessories!
I saw the gold necklace on the New Look website and started thinking of ways to style it, I love how simple it is but it's also a statement piece.
A snood is something I've been thinking about, I love wearing scarves and snoods as they add extra oomph to an outfit. I love the black and white Topshop snood. I need.

What have you lovelies been keeping your eye on this August?
