What's New In Jess'. . . Closet? | Nike Trainers

Hey, hey, hey!

As you guys know, I'm a huge trainers fan and I basically collect them.
Trainers are my number one love and I wear them whenever I can. I have more trainers than I have any other type of shoe. I haven't worn a pair of flats since I left school, I hate the way they look on me and I personally don't feel like they have a place in my style.

I'd love to show you guys my trainers collection but there's a few more pairs I want first! But let me know if that's something you want to see.
Obviously I'm not showing you guys to boast, trainers are expensive footwear and I do save up for each pair I want (most of time!) I just want to show you guys my babies haha!

I've recently started wearing skater shoes and in the eyes of my style, they are flats. I love how they can look smart but are still trainer-like. They are great shoes for college/uni.

Speaking of college/uni, let me kick start my back to school hauls.
Even though I'm not a school starter and I am going to be starting the big ol' university, I thought it would be nice to show you guys what I'll be buying for my course and myself.

I'm going to be splitting up my hauls so first up are these pairs of trainers.

I'm all about finding unique trainers so when I can't find pairs in JD Sports or Footlocker, I head straight to the Sports Direct website because I always find unique trainers.

The first pair I found online were the Nike basketball lows.
I actually have two pairs of the basketball trainers already but they're both high tops and I didn't really want buy another pair that were the same so I opted for the lows.
I loved the colour and contrast. I haven't got many black trainers so these are a great addition to the collection.
Sports Direct do great deals and are always looking to clear trainers for a good price, I managed to bag these for £21! That's amazing for a good pair of trainers, I got these in a size 5.5 but I could've done with a size 5. However, Winter is coming soon and having a half size up is great to wear double socks with during that time period.

The second pair I also found on the Sports Direct website were the Nike Capri High Tops.
I actually tried them on in-store after seeing them online because I wasn't sure about them but I fell in love when I tried them.
I got home and ordered them straight away along with basketball ones. These pairs were £30, again, a great price for trainers and I bought these pairs in a size 5.

I love my new pairs and I can't wait to style them up!
Let me know if you want to see a trainers lookbook and my collection, I'd love to do it for you guys!

What's New In Jess' . . . Closet? | Jylle Navarro

Hi guys,

You're all probably confused but yes, I took these pictures before I changed my hair!
So don't be alarmed, I don't change my hair that frequently haha!

I wanted to show you guys a piece I'm absolutely in love with.

I'm interning with Jylle Navarro, a knitwear designer.
I've been posting my day to day working activities on here so definitely check it out!

But anyway, onto the post!

Whilst I was helping Jylle sort out her endless supply of garments, she said I could have any one of the black tops. I was jumping for joy (inside my head) and I tried on a few before I found THE ONE!

I picked out the laddered knit vest and I love it!

I haven't worn it out yet, I want to find a really nice bralet/bra to go underneath first. I can't wait to style it up, I've got so many ideas swirling around inside my head!

What do you guys think about the piece? If you do want to get your hands on one, there will be a sample soon so I'll keep you guys updated on when and where it is!

Thanks for reading and hope you're all enjoying the Summer so far,

Jesslyn x

What's New In Jess' . . . Closet? | Primark Basics

Hey guys,

Mini haul for you guys!
As I've said in previous posts, I've been loving Primark at the moment however right above, all you see is black!
Everyone needs a few new basics in the wardrobe whether it be a white vest top or a grey cami or a black tee, you always need them.

This time I headed into Primark to look for a white crop top (that I didn't find) that I would wear for my birthday. I ended up not buying the crop top and picking up these two babies.
I saw a grey one too but I was on my way to college and didn't want to carry too much. I will go back for the grey tee!
My style is changing and I'm loving the basic look so these are basically contributing to my new style.

The boyfriend tee was £3 which is ridiculously cheap and this is why you have to love Primark. I definitely wasn't putting this down once I picked it up. I know it's just a black tee and it's nothing to get excited about but I'm already planning outfits in my head. It's such a versatile piece and can be worn with everything.

Second piece is the vest top. It's not really a vest top, it has really deep armholes so you've got to wear a bralet, bandeau or a crop top underneath.
It was only £4, again, a bargain. I love the racer back, very flattering, also because part of your back and ribs shows along with the deep armholes.
I really like this top, it will definitely look amazing with my high waisted jeans, tucked in and with my birkenstocks.

So that's my little basics haul, have you picked up any basics from Primark lately?
Let me know, I'm definitely taking another trip soon!

Thanks for reading,
Jesslyn

What's New In Jess' . . . Closet? | Blue Suede Courts

Hello my lovelies,

I've got a new addition to the family. These amazing cobalt blue, suede court heels. Now before I tell you where I got them from and how much they were. Let me tell you my little situation before I came across these shoes.

I had been on a search for some nude patent court heels for a very long time and I finally found a pair. I didn't try them on in the shop so I bought them I took them home. As soon as I got home I tried them on, I wasn't in love. A couple of days later, I took them back and looked for something to exchange them with because I did actually want a new pair of heels.

So I was walking through the aisle of shoes and it was pretty neat and tidy, that's what I love about morning shopping trips. These blue shoes jumped at me, they had nude ones but they didn't speak to me, I snapped up the blue shoes and I ran (walked very fast, I was supposed to be on my way to college) to customers service and it was quick and easy exchange, for once!

Now from little story, you'll probably be able to guess where I got these amazing heels from. They were from  the oh so, I've become amazing, Primark! I must tell you guys, (like I always do) Primark have stepped up their game, like for real!
Now the price, the nude shoes were £10 and because I was in a rush, I picked up the blue ones and I didn't look at the price when running to customer services, when the lovely lady handed me back a pound, I was like no way. I was in shock that such amazing shoes were only £9.

I feel like going back to get the nude pair but I really want patent ones so gotta behave and not buy things unnecessarily (haha, this is a first).

So my search for nude patent courts is not  over but I've gained another pair for a great price.

What do you guys think? Amazing shoes or nah?

Head to Primark, they are doing it right now!

What's New In Jess' . . . Closet? | Birkenstocks, Primark Dupe

Sandals Primark £4

Hey everyone,

As said in a previous post, I took an accidental trip to Primark and I bought a few things even though I was tempted to buy much more.

When I went in, I knew there was one thing I really wanted. These black patent birkenstocks dupes. I originally wanted the Birkenstocks from ASOS but they were hella expensive for sandals even though they are, apparently, good quality. Anyway I wasn't willing to pay £40 for sandals so when I went into Primark and saw these, I was over the moon!

Being only 10% of the price of the originals, there was no way I could leave them hanging there.
I can't wait to wear them, I'm not a fan of feet/sandals but I can make these work and hopefully if I go on holiday this year, I'll make good use of them!

What have any of you picked up from Primark lately? They have some amazing bits in right now, they have definitely stepped up their game (and their prices to be honest!). If you want some summer essentials, head to Primark ASAP!

What's New In Jess'. . . Room

Eyelet Pliers Maplin | Doubled Sided Mirror Wilko | Non Slip Hangers & Velvet Clips Primark
Hoop Earrings (5 pairs) Primark | Rings (set of 12) Primark |

Hey guys,

Yep, another haul!
I don't know why I'm shopping so much, I think I'm stressed and shopping is making me mega happy.

I've bought quite a few bits throughout the past week or so, I'd say many unnecessary essentials (if that makes sense), I made myself believe I need them.
Well, onto the haul!

First up was a genuine essential. It's eyelet pliers. I needed them for a college project and I wanted to put in eyelets. They came out amazing and my teachers loved them and were even happier that I actually went through the effort of pressing in each eyelet. Thanks Maplin.

Next is something I didn't need but I knew I really wanted. A double sided, sleek looking mirror. The mirror I had in my room was irritatingly small so on my trip to Wilko, I picked up this one, it was only £4.50 and it looks great on my dressing table.

Umm, yeah, I needed these hangers. I've resulted to hang my new clothes over the rail when I get home because of the lack of hangers and the increase in clothes. The clips were just something I thought would be smart to get with it. The hangers were £4 and the clips were £2!

Hooped earrings are a new thing. I really wanted to try them out to see if I'd learn to like them, I wore a pair and I quite liked them, there's 5 pairs and they're all different sizes. They were only £1 so I thought why not, can't go wrong really.

These rings were on sale for £1 in Primark, I couldn't just walk away and leave them there. 12 rings for £1!

The mission right now is to get my hair to a really healthy state. It's in great condition right now and I'm managing to keep the length but I just want my hair to be more healthy and longer.
These are the products I needed for my hair regime, some were to replace empty bottles and others were products I'd been recommend to get for my hair.
I'm going to be doing a 'how I look after texturised hair' post very soon so keep your eyes peeled for a lengthy review on all my products and my regime!

And lastly, this beauty. This gorgeous aviator jacket was on sale. For £10. In Primark. I tweeted a picture during my shopping trip with my mum because I was that excited. I saw the one jacket hanging up in the reflection of mirror, I ran over, picked it up and told my mum 'I'm getting it'. She just rolled her eyes because I hardly took a second look at the jacket and it was in the basket haha! It's beautiful, don't ya think?

Thanks for reading guys, have any of you taken a trip to Primark lately or picked up some new hair products? I'd love to know what you've all chucked in the shopping basket lately!

What's New In Jess' . . . Closet | feat. LOVE

Hey my lovelies!

Part 3 of my haul!
As you guys can see, the amazing girls at LOVE have seen my address pop up once again on their system.
LOVE is probably my favourite brand at the moment, they have such lovely pieces on their websites.

Not being able to resist, I saw 2 pieces I needed in my Spring wardrobe and couldn't close the tab until I'd purchased both items.

So first is a playsuit. My wardrobe isn't bursting with colours so I thought why not get a bright yellow one instead of a black one. I love the diamond cut out on the back, I don't have many pieces in my wardrobe that are backless or cut out but this playsuit is definitely a start. I love the culottes style too, looks so summery and free. It's currently on sale for £10 so snap it up before it goes!

LOVE Baroque Print Cut Out Arm Kimono*

Going to give you guys a moment to admire this amazing print . . .

. . . alright, stop looking! haha!
When I tell you this kimono was only £10, you'll probably not read the rest of this post and go and purchase it. I'm not a fan of prints but I couldn't pass up this beautiful kimono, I love the colour contrast, the scale of the print, everything! It has a cut out in the arm which also drew me in because it was so unusual. It's very flattering and I can't wait to wear it out.

Thanks again LOVE, I'd really recommend everyone to check out their sale, they always have amazing things in the sale, pieces you wouldn't think would be in the sale, discounted to tempting prices!

Definitely have a look through, you never know and thanks for reading!

What's New In Jess' . . . Make Up Drawers | MUA & Skincare

Hello my lovelies,

As promised, part 2 of my haul, what new bits and bobs are in my make up drawers?
Have a read, don't be tempted to shop!

Me and my friend took a spontaneous trip to the local shopping mall and we stopped off at Superdrug and had a rather long look around.
I was trying to decide on a foundation but I wasn't sure what to go for so I came to a conlusion that I'd come another day when I have more time and have a thorough look around. The Revlon ColorStay is a strong contender right now!

But these are the bits I left with!

MUA Pro - Base Complexion Kit - Mocha

First up is a concealer palette. I love MUA's concealing kits, I swear by the one I bought a while back and it's part of my daily make up routine. As it's starting to come to an end, it was only right to buy another one, ready for use.
I bought the larger size which comes with a sponge and little brush which I'll be making good use of. This kit was £6 which is a bargain because it lasts forever!

Superdrug Deep Action 2 in 1 Detoxifying Cream Wash & Mask

Next is a skincare product. Superdrug have their own brand of skincare products and I'm glad I went in with an open mind and bought the scrub. As I was on the hunt for a moisturiser, I came across this beauty which is a cream wash that can also be doubled up as mask. It was £2.59 which is how I much I paid for the scrub, totally worth it. Superdrug are also doing 2 for £4 on their skincare line at the moment.
I've tried it once already and I quite like the way it feels on my skin so keep a look out for a full review in the near future.

MUA Colour Blast Eyeshadow Tint - Unfaithful

Who doesn't love free stuff? Superdrug are doing an offer where if you spend £6 or more on MUA, you get a free eye shadow tint. It's usually £3 so I couldn't snap it up quick enough. I've seen quite a few reviews on this baby but I've always been to lazy to actually go and buy it so I used this opportunity to get one. I chose a brown shade which I'll get good use out of, I hope.

MUA Nail Polish - Pistachio Ice Cream

You all know those unnecessary purchases, this nail polish was one of them.
I love MUA nail polishes but I just didn't need another one, I currently have Shellac on my nails so I can't paint my nails and I will be getting gel done soon so I guess this beautiful nail polish will have to sit and be patient. It's only £1, you can't go wrong to be honest and it's a lovely shade too.

Save the boring item until last, cotton pads. My mum constantly complains about me using the household cotton wool to take off my make up so I just thought it'd be nice to have my own cotton pads and be able to use them without any complaints, it was 99p so why not.

Hope you guys liked the bits I bought, are there any things you've bought from Superdrug recently?
I'd love to know, thanks for reading and I hope you're all well, March tomorrow!

What's New In Jess' . . . Closet | Blazers & Trainers

Hey guys,

Missed me? haha! I've been crazily busy this last week, blogging has had to take a seat in the back I'm afraid.
I have all my posts planned for the week to come, photograph the images for the posts, it's just finding the time to sit down and type.

I thought I'd do a mini haul to ease back into blogging. As you guys know, my new haul series is called 'What's New In Jess'. . . ' and it could either be closet, make up drawers or my room.

Today it's closet, I've split up my haul into 3 parts so tomorrow is make up drawers (exciting!)

I'm a huge lover of trainers and I buy a new pair at least every month and a half so saying that I purchased another pair of basketball trainers.
They were on sale in Sports Direct and I couldn't leave without them. I have the same type but in black and white so I definitely knew what I was adding to collection, I just couldn't help but have another in a different colour. You girlies know how it is!

My lovely mama gave in to my request of black blazers and bought two amazing ones.
The first one is a long linen boyfriend blazer, I'm in love with it. I've had it for about 2 weeks and I've worn it about 5 times now, it's just an amazing staple piece to have in the wardrobe. Unfortunately, I'm not sure where she bought it from but I've found ones similar on eBay and ASOS!

The second blazer is a fitted one. It's from French Connection and I also love it. I wore it to the LOVE event which I showed in an OOTD.
I love the fit of it, it's not too tight and it's definitely flattering. And the shoulders are amazing, random but amazing!

So that's my mini haul for you guys, definitely keep your eyes peeled for tomorrow's haul and the mystery 3rd part!

It's feels good to be back, blogging!

What's New In Jess' . . . Room | Mannequin

Buy here

Finally, finally, I've purchased a mannequin.

I'd been itching to buy one but couldn't bring myself to invest in one even though I knew I needed it. I searched through eBay, Amazon, all sorts but I just couldn't trust it.

As the half term break drew nearer, I knew I would need a mannequin for my final piece so I went over to my eBay watch list and had a thorough read of the reviews, noticing that the seller I 'd bought mine from had 99.8% positive feedback I thought I'd go ahead and buy it.

So I took, what I thought was a risk and purchased it. I'm a huge eBay fan but this was the one thing I struggled to pay for, I'm not sure why haha

I paid £28.95 for a size 12 mannequin. It's all white, wooden and can be adjusted in height from 56" to 66". It has a polystyrene body which you can pin in to etc., it also came with a chrome post, white thistle top and tripod base. I love the fact that it has a jersey cover which you can remove and wash if you need to.
It arrived at my house in 2 DAYS! That made me so happy, to see that it was inside my house, ready to open and use when I came back from college made me the happiest person alive.

I've already started my final piece on it, I'm definitely going to be putting it to good use!

I'm currently catching up on LFW and getting ready to cook some din-dins for the family.

I hope everyone's well and thanks for reading!
