What's New On Jess' . . . Skincare Shelf? | Superdrug & L'Oreal

L'Oreal 3in1 Micellar Water | Superdrug Deep Action Deep Cleansing Lotion

Hi guys,

Little ol' me went on a shopping spree and bought a few things, online and in-store.
I thought I'd split everything up like I usually do instead of doing one big haul so today, I'm showing you guys the skincare bits I bought!

I took a trip to Superdrug with my bestie because she wanted to buy some bits before she moves for uni so I went in without any plans to buy anything but I couldn't resist.

I had a few skincare bits on my list so I utilised my hour and a half in Superdrug to get them.

First is the L'Oreal Micellar Water. This was actually a repurchase, my current one is on it's way out so I knew I had to have one ready to replace it. It's an amazing product and it helps my skin so much so repurchasing was a must. It was on sale for £3.33 which is a bargain because I usually see it for £4.99!

Second is a Cleansing Lotion by the Superdrug's own brand. I have oily skin so I use the deep action range, I already own and use the facial scrub (review) and cream wash (review) and they work well with my skin so I jumped and bought the cleansing lotion. It was only £2.59, which is the price for all their Deep Action products. I can't wait to start using it along with my L'Oreal one.

Next is a facial scrub. Like I said before, I'm using the Deep Action facial scrub but I wanted something that wasn't as vigorous so opted for the Spot Clearing facial scrub by Superdrug's Simply Pure range and can you believe it was only 30p! I will be repurchasing if it's any good.

Lastly, is a moisturiser by Superdrug's Skin Soft range. I really needed a moisturiser to use alongside my Effaclar Duo so I found this Gentle Moisturising Cream which was only 38p which is so cheap and I've used it a couple times already and it's amazing!

As you guys can probably tell, I'm loving Superdrug's skincare products. I know some people may think, the more costly, the better but I'm all about finding a product that does the same as that expensive one over there.
However, if you're young or on a budget and need skincare products, I'd definitely recommend their range to you!

Have you tried any products from their range, I'd love to know!
Thanks for reading and keep a look out for more hauls throughout the next couple of weeks, I'm on a shopping roll before uni haha

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo | Review

Hey guys,
I have a skincare review for you today. I haven't done a review in a while and my drawers are overflowing with things to review.

Everyone loves a good skincare product, everyone loves one that makes their skin oh so smooth and velvety. I can honestly, honestly tell you guys, the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo is that product.

It takes me ages to see if a product really works for my skin, I have troublesome oily skin that does what it likes, when it likes, so finding a good product is hard.

When I asked on twitter during a #bbloggers chat, what moisturiser you'd recommend for oily skin, 75% said 'Effaclar Duo' and I thank you all because you've all helped transform my skin.

After deciding I wanted to try it out, I headed over to the La Roche Posay website and was able to get a sample.
On arrival, I opened up the package and voila, there was the sample and they even kindly sent me a voucher with it.
Usually when you see things like vouchers with samples, you think maybe this is a way of swaying you towards liking the product however the voucher ran out a few days and I'm still adamant on buying the product. Though it would've been useful to use the voucher before it ran out haha

I've been using it nearly everyday for the past month and you may think how could I have possibly use that sample for a month but you'd surprised how far a little bit can go. The first day I made the mistake of using a little too much, mind you, I woke up with lovely smooth skin the next day.

It says to use it morning and night but I just used it at night when I'd taken off my make up. It also says you can use it with or without moisturiser, I used it with my moisturiser. I applied the Effaclar Duo first, in places I know needed it (my T-Zone and cheeks), let it sit for 10 mins and then used my moisturiser on top.

I can definitely see a difference, especially on my cheeks. I had huge pores on my cheeks, chin and nose and blemishes on my forehead and cheeks. The have noticeably reduced and my skin looks much smoother and clearer. I have also noticed a difference in how oily my skin is, my make up is sliding about as much as it used to, I'm only having to lightly powder my face once during a long day.
Smooth skin definitely makes your make up look better also and the way my make up sits on my face is clearly better, everything blends in better. I'm just in love with this product.

I'd really recommend this product to anyone that has troublesome skin, I know what works for me may not work for you but it's definitely worth a try. I hope I can get my hands on the full size soon so I know I can always use it. I don't usually get excited about skincare products but this is one to be excited about!

Have any of your tried the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo? What was your experience like?
Love it or hate it? I'd love to know

Thanks for reading!

Skincare Review | L'Oreal 3 in 1 Micellar Solution & Superdrug Deep Action Daily Facial Scrub

L'Oreal 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution
Superdrug Deep Action Daily Facial Scrub - Anti-bacterial

Hello everyone,

Another review for you lovely readers and it's a skincare one!
I'm not a huge skincare person but I do try my hardest to take care of my skin, applying make up in the mornings would be hell if I didn't look after my skin.

Along with my DHC Deep Cleansing Oil (review), these two products have been saving my face. I'm very lazy and using 3 products to get a clean face can be annoying so I end up using a wipe sometimes (bad blogger!)

The micellar solution is what I use to take off all my make up, the product says it'll dissolve my make up, unclog my pores and remove impurities and lastly, tone and soothe my skin.
It also says it's suitable for sensitive skin.

Overall, I'd say the product is telling the truth, my skin was noticeably better, my skin wasn't as porous. It also evened out my skin tone which I was very happy about because I was using many other toners (that my mum bought for me) before, that didn't actually work on my skin.
Taking off make up is really quick when I use this solution, sometimes I use a cotton pad and other times, I use cotton wool,. Getting off mascara is usually a pain but follow the directions and it just comes off.
However, don't get this baby in your eye, it stings like a b..iscuit!

After getting my make up off, I use the facial scrub, there's tiny bead in the scrub which aren't too harsh on my skin, which I'm happy about. I put a teaspoon amount on my finger tips, wet it and then massage it on my face. I really massage it into my skin, especially because I have oily skin, when I feel my face tingling a little, I rinse it off, still exfoliating as I rinse.

I love this scrub, it's great for my type of skin. I definitely saw a difference in my skin afterwards, maybe about 3-4 days later. I don't use it daily because I do have sensitive skin but if I feel that my skin needs it daily, I'll use it daily, even still the scrub doesn't have a bad effect on my skin.

If you have oily skin, I think these two products would work great on your skin, especially the scrub, it really gets deep into the skin and when you rinse, your skin feels so smooth and clean.
I think the micellar solution is great for any skin type, I'm happy it was suitable for sensitive skin. I could use it every day and not worry about red blotches on my face or sore skin.

On a whole, they're great products and I'll definitely be buying them again because I know they work well on my skin.
What are your opinions on these products if you've tried them?
What skin type do you have and what works for you?
Let me know guys!
Thanks for reading and follow me on bloglovin to keep updated!
