Current Favourites | Beauty

Hey guys,

I know, I've been absent for nearly a week! I had posts planned but I never got round to writing them up. All my time and energy has gone into completing two outfits for my assessment next week, I finally have my jackets lined and I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. If you want to read my 'First Collection Update' post, feel free to check it out!

Well, onto the post!
I've wanted to do a current favourites post for a while now but my favourites kept on changing and some things I liked, I hated a few days later. So in this post I'm going to be talking about my current favouriites that use literally everyday or every day I want to wear make up.
I'd love to know what all your current favourites are so let me know what you're loving too.

First up is MUA's Pro Base Concealer Kit. I love this thing, around 2 years ago, I came across it and I actually bought the smaller version of it. I use it to concealer under my eyes and highlight my nose, chin and forehead. I always apply it over my foundation because I feel it looks better but that's just how do it and it works for me. I think it was around £5 or £6 and smaller one was either £3 or £4. I love the consistency and the coverage.

Next is the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. I know most people love the RT brushes, they are amazing, no doubt. However, everyone has a favourite and my so happens to be the Buffing Brush. I use it to apply liquid foundation which I think is how most people use it. I love the way it buffs in my foundation and makes my skin look flawless. I do get lovely comments from you all about how flawless my skin looks and it's thanks to this brush and my skincare routine.

This is MUA's Pro Base Primer. It was bought for me around Christmas time and I've been using it daily ever since. Being someone that has a oily T-Zone, I just apply it to my problem area and it helps my make up stick to my face. I notice when I forget to apply it on 'those' days, my face is noticeably more oily and my make up slides like crazy. MUA's Pro Base range is actually quite good, I'd recommend it to anyone that's look for good base products for cheap, cheap.

Another MUA product, the Colour Blast Eyeshadow Tint. This is probably my top favourite product after eyebrow pencil. It makes eyeshadow application and quick and easy process. On those days that I just can't be asked to do whole blending shenanigan (bad blogger, I know!) I just wack this on with my finger and voila! It was around £3 which is such a bargain.

And lastly, Carmex!
Who doesn't love a little bit of Carmex (or a lot of). I use it all time, before I go to bed, before I apply my lipstick and when lips are generally dry.
It does burn sometimes but to me, that means it's working. It moisturises my lips, prevents them from cracking and to be honest, who wants dry lips.
Everyone needs Carmex and Vaseline in their lives.

So these are my current beauty favourites.
Hope everyone's well and is loving the sun (or the rain haha)

Thanks for reading!

May Lust List 2014

Hey guys,

Woohoo, we're technically in the Summer season even though it may not feel like it!

I'm so excited, June is going to be a crazy month, I have to make a 4 piece collection, make my sister's prom dress (bricking it!) and it's my last month at college, yay!

I've been lusting over a crazy amount of things this season. There was a time I wasn't really following the trends and hardcore shopping didn't appeal to me but wow, right now, I'm itching to shop. I even did a mid May lust list if you want to check it out, I never do a mid month lust list but there's just been too much I've been loving!

Pastel colours are in and I'm glad they are, they're my favourite type of colours. I'd love to wear pastel colours head to toe but I guess that's a bit overboard.

So as you can probably tell my lust list this month is going to be a pastel-y one!

I'll start off with accessories!
I can't wait to talk about this one, the pastel blue pointed court heels. ASOS is my favourite place to browse at the moment, their sale is amazing, their trend section is amazing and it's making shopaholics like me want to shop like crazy. Anyway, I love the cutouts in these heels, I don't have anything like these among other shoes and the colour (of course!) is gorgeous!
Next is the round frame sunglasses from New Look! I love black sunglasses that have gold accents and these ones are needed.
Lastly, is a beautiful box clutch also from New Look, and yes it's pastel blue! Box clutches are all the hype right now and I must say I love them too. They're so classy looking and can make a casual outfit look dressed up by just simply slinging it over your shoulder!

Now for the threads!
I've seen quite a few tops that have splits on the sides and I love a bit of skin showing but not too much, you know what I mean girls! Topshop have a variety but I fell in love with the palm leaf print one, I've planned outfits already. Some boyfriend jeans, gold chain, nude court heels and a neon clutch, perfect for a Summer night out.
And last but not least, a midi skater skirt. I love skater skirts and I love midi skirts but when they're combined, you can't help but fall in love with them. I saw Jennie AKA BeautybyJJ on Youtube styling midi skirts and I really liked the bright green one. So I went on a virtual hunt for midi skirts and found an amazing one on ASOS, lilac of course!

Writing this post has made me so excited about Summer shopping, I've bought quite a few things already for my birthday and for the Summer holidays but I want  need more.

What have you all been lusting over? Anyone going on holiday and have their eye on some holiday bits?
I'd love to know!

What's New In Jess' . . . Closet? | Primark Aviator Sunglasses

Hi guys!

Little old me took a trip to Primark (well not on purpose!) and I bought a couple of things, these amazing sunglasses were one of the things.
I was going to put everything all in one post but I took some pictures and I didn't really like them #bloggerproblems! Also, I wasn't sure if I was going to keep them as they were impulse buys *slaps wrists*

If you saw my April Lust List, I mentioned that I had me eye on a pair of amazing sunglasses. I was obsessing over the Indie Dapper Hipster Flat Top Vintage Aviator Sunglasses from Zero UV, they were $10.95 which converted to pounds is £6.54, bargain for a pair of beautiful sunglasses.

Well, knowing me, I always want to get something cheaper and instantly. Ordering things online especially from abroad can aggravate me because there's always a problem and I didn't want to take that risk.
So when I took a trip to Primark and saw these sunnies just sitting among the others and picked them up without hestitation, I hadn't even looked at price until I put them on the till.
I knew they couldn't be any more than £3 anyway and I was right, they were an amazing £2, bargain or what?

I can't wait to wear them this Summer, they're so chic! I wish they had them with gold accents but when I saw them, I needed them in my life. When I go back to Primark, I'm going to keep a look out for a gold accent pair because Primark constantly rotate their stock.

If you haven't been to Primark this Spring (I'm sure you all have!), I really suggest you do, they have some gorgeous pieces in. I wanted to buy so many things but I wasn't really prepared for a huge shop so next time I go in, I'm going to be more than prepared to tackle the streams of people and carry a few heavy bags home!

Have any of you been to Primark lately? What did you pick up? Feel free to leave links for me to check out your hauls!

Throwback Thursday | Paco Rabanne S/S12

Hey everyone!

The week's nearly finished, boo for me, I'm on a half term break and I'm dreading going back to college, I have so much work to do. *cries*
Oh, apologies for missing last week's Throwback post (if you were looking forward to it, that is haha)!

This week, I have a throwback that is very close to my heart, I researched this collection like crazy for a college project, being very inspired by it.

All I can say about this collection is chainmail and metallic.
It's amazing!

The fact that someone cut up these pieces and put them all together is crazy, the garments fit the body like a glove. I'm guessing the skin must've been pinched a few times!

When you look at a collection that is full off metallic this and that, you can be put off quite quickly but when you look past that, the detailing is what makes the collection.

Definitely going to be referring to this collection any chance I can.
What do you guys think?

NEW NAILS | On Trend with Powder Blue

6 weeks later.

Hiya!

Nothing better than fresh nails and fresh hair! You feel so good afterwards, just the feeling of being pampered and not having to do anything for that hour and a half is so relaxing and freeing.

I went in midday, I love my nail shop, I love the fact that you don't have to book an appointment and even when it's busy in there, you never wait longer than 15 minutes to be seen.

I'd say the whole process was complete in an hour and 20-25 minutes. If I didn't spend nearly a third of the time under the dryer (any excuse to sit and relax!) I would've been out in an hour.

For this set of nails, I opted for a powder blue colour. Pastels are my number 1 love at the minute (actually second, food's my first). They are just beautiful colours and very girly ones too.
Well, instead of doing lilac (saving that for my next trip!), I went for the blue.
The nail artist couldn't help but laugh when I explained the design I wanted. I was telling her what I wanted on each finger and she stopped me halfway and said, "Just tell me as I do each finger!", haha I felt so bad and so particular (if that's the right word, probably not).

The design I went for was, one finger with a leopard print, one with stripes, one with a two third tip, one normal one and one matte. I think that's all five? *counts*

I must say this is probably my favourite set of nails because I did every nail differently. I did it mainly because I didn't want to get bored of nails so quickly like the last. The last set lasted (last, last, too many lasts) 6 weeks, the left thumb cracked 2 days before going to the nail shop but it was a minor!

I can't wait to go back, I have my next 2 trips planned, so excited!

What do you guys think of my nails? You like or no like? Haha! You can compare to my last set, click here to see them!

5 Random Facts About Me

Hey guys,

I always love knowing facts about bloggers/youtubers so I thought why not do a little facts post today.
As the title says, my facts are completely random so don't expect no cohesion haha

Enjoy!

1. My name is actually pronounced 'JeZZlyn' but everyone sees it as 'JeSSlyn' and says it like that and I don't bother to correct them because it's just long. When I start uni, I hope I can get most people pronouncing my name correctly.

2. I am the eldest child of 6 and was the only child for 2 years. I honestly wish I could remember those amazing 2 years of being an only child. Apparently, I was a terror and didn't sit still, powder and Vaseline were my best buds.

3. I knew I wanted to be a fashion designer from the age of 8. I remember people asking me what I wanted to go into when I'm older and always said 'I want to be a fashion designer' with no hesitation. 'Til this day, I still want to pursue a career in fashion design, it's become so real now that I'm off to uni this September to study a BA in Fashion Design. I'm glad my family support whatever I do in building my future.

4. I have a really (really) fast metabolism. A couple years ago, I would eat every hour just because I could and my body would let me. I don't really gain weight, there's pros and cons to that however, I'm grateful that I don't have to keep an eye on my weight.
Nowadays, I don't eat as much when I'm out but when I'm at home, the kitchen's mine. I do understand that, because I'm naturally slim doesn't mean I don't have to look after my insides!

5. I want to travel the world. My mum always freaks out at the idea of me travelling by myself but she knows I've got to grow up. I plan to take a sandwich year during uni and start my travels by doing a placement in New York and then Paris/Italy if possible. As soon as I graduate, I'm gonna be the airport's best friend!

And because we're talking about facts here, let me tell you all one special fact.
 I've reached 400 followers!

I'm so happy that 400 amazing people take the time to read and follow my blog. Everyone starts with 0 and after a year and a half, I'm so grateful that my blog has grown so much in such a short space of time.

I haven't even started yet, I feel like I still have so much to accomplish being only 17 but to have 400 people already behind me and supporting me is such a blessing!
I can't wait to introduce new things onto my blog and into my life and to share them with you all is an amazing thing, I really appreciate the love you all show to me and my blog.

Thank you everyone and once again, thanks for reading!
