Throwback Thursday | BCBG Max Azria A/W14

Hey guys,

Apologies for my Throwback Thursday post going up on a Friday night, my internet was doing all kinds yesterday so instead of getting frustrated, I left it for today!

My fashion week throwbacks is something I love to do. I love looking back at those amazing collections and just remembering how much I was in awe of most of the collections.

This week's throwback is BCBG Max Azria from the A/W14 season.
After David Koma's (my favourite designer) collection, this was definitely one of the best collections for me.

The mix of fabrics was a plus for me, the fur and the leather made me fall in love with this collection.
I'm a sucker for quite a dull and muted colour palette and this collections is all about those dull tones.

I really loved this collection, I wish I was rich because half of these pieces would be in wardrobe.
Depressing haha!

What was your favourite from A/W14?

What's New In Jess' . . . Make Up Drawers? | Urban Decay Naked Basics DUPE

Hiya!

You must've clicked to read this post because it said 'Urban Decay' or because it says 'dupe'!
I read Becca's blog from Fashion Train and saw she managed to snap up an UD palette dupe for under £5 so straight away, I virtually sprinted onto the Tmart  website and ordered the Basics palette.

You'll be in even more shock when I tell you I paid £1.83! I didn't even pay £2, now that's a serious bargain!
I was super pleased when it arrived in the post, in amazing condition and looking exactly the original.
I swatched them and will show them in a review/eyeshadow look later on but I'll tell you now, never doubt a cheap dupe.
They can be the best gems about!

What bargains have you come across recently? I'd love to know.

My First Collection | Sneak Peek

Hi everybody!

Some of you may or may not that I'm a fashion student, I do say it quite a lot on here! I love everything about fashion and I'm striving to become a fashion designer.

So before I get too deep into what I want to become, let me carry on with the post.
As the final part of my 2 year college course we have to put together a 4 outfit collection for our college fashion show.

My collection is based on androgyny/tomboys but girly ones, it's hard to explain. Me but in collection form haha
I wanted jackets/coats to be the main feature in my collection, consisting of 3 jackets and 1 dress coat.
My favourite colour is lilac so I wanted that to be the only colour I use along with black and white.
I wanted to have a mint green lining so I'd have a contrast lining, you never know, it may be my signature lining colour.

I've completed all my patterns so I'm pretty much ready to buy my fabric, cut out and sew!

I'm so excited because this is my first collection and the first time I get to show what I can do and what I'm all about. Ahhh!

As I progress more into making my collection, I'll definitely update you guys!

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick | Review

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick 470 Glam Plum Fulham

Hey guys,

Got a review for you all today. I was gifted this amazing lipstick by my best friend for Christmas. I wore it quite a bit throughout Winter but I never got a chance to review it.

First of all, I love the packaging without the lid, I think the lid makes it look slightly childish but the lovely silver inside makes up for it.

I love the shade, it compliments my skin tone, it's not red and it's not pink, it's perfectly balanced.
I usually wear this lipstick with a daytime smokey eye or a pink toned smokey eye.

The texture and the application of the lipstick is amazing, it just glides onto the lips (if well moisturised beforehand) and it sits on the lips like Vaseline, it's adds so much moisture to my lips.

I wouldn't say this lipstick lasts too long and I think it's down to the 'Vaseline' characteristics of it. When you rub your lips together, it rubs off after a while and I have a bad habit of rubbing my lips together when they're well moisturised.
I do wear a lipliner underneath it to help it last longer and it does work.
It's very pigmented and the colour stands out with or without a lipliner.

I'd recommend this lipstick if you're looking for a moisturising lipstick, I wouldn't really recommend it if you're looking for a long lasting lipstick.

So that's my review of Rimmel's Moisture Renew Lipstick, if you've tried it, I'd love to know your opinions!

What's New In Jess' . . . Closet! | feat. LOVE

Hello!

Got some new pieces to show you all today. I love LOVE, they never fail to produce amazing clothing at good prices. As always, I head straight for the sale because that's where the best pieces are!

I wanted some Summer dresses that could be worn casually or be dressed up.
I found these!

Just your bog standard LBD, it's jersey so it's so easy to wear casually. Definitely a 'walk in the park' kinda dress. I love the straps and the mesh overlay. I also like the fact I can throw on a nice cardigan and some court shoes and wear it for an evening out.

This is one definitely more dressy I would say, it can be dressed down with a pair of trainers and a light jacket. It has lining in the skirt that makes it fuller which I love, feel so girly wearing it. Love the fact that it's a halter neck, definitely compliments my neck and shoulders.
Can't wait to wear it!

So that's what's new in my closet, I've got to go and invest in some strapless, backless bras now. Oh the joy!

Have you all been on the hunt for Summer dresses?
Share your love for shopping haha and thanks for reading!

Throwback Thursday | Alexander Wang S/S 13

Hiya!

I'm on a roll this week with the blog, I've got so many ideas buzzing around in my head, what better place than the blog to share it?
I thought I'd start a new series which is a throwback thursday - fashion week edition. I'll be going back in time and carefully selecting (picking the faves) the best collections from back then.

To kick it off, I'm sharing with a collection I've fallen in with quite recently actually.
It's Alexander Wang's Spring/Summer from 2013.

The first thing I noticed were the cutouts! They are amazing, every single cutout is thought out and adds that edge to each outfit.
The colour palette consists of black, white, silver and nude. My kind of palette but minus lilac.

I love how the collection varies with jackets being the focus garment to simplistic dresses being the focus. Even though there's so many garments for different styles, the collection is still cohesive.

Check out Vogue for the full collection, it's truly an amazing collection!
What's your opinions guys?

Thanks for reading!
